*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Assuming a standard 190g packet of Haribo:
The caloric intake for 100g is ~345 calories (can be a bit more or a bit less depending on the specific type of Haribo used) so a while packet is 655 calories.
For the average person, an Extra kg of weight gain requires an additional 7000 calories on top of your normal daily intake; so, a packet a day for 144 days means 94,320 extra calories, which translates to roughly 13.5 kg of weight gain.
With a lot of assumptions, e.g. no other changes in your diet and no extra physical activity.
In reality the weight gain will be less than that, because the extra weight will require your body to consume more energy to move the extra mass around.
Awesome, thanks. If you want to factor in extra physical activity, it is just manically pressing f5

Mine was a commentary of the way the OC has handled this whole thing. They could have won so many points by just being honest and up-front.
On a more light hearted note, this video is entitled "How To Be Honest" is by Awkward Puppets and hopefully it might make a few of you laugh whilst waiting! A friend sent me one of their videos and I've been watching loads of them.
Now, back to the RTX rants :D

It's not a preorder if the release date has passed.

Finally someone who understands what the word 'pre-order' means in UK consumer law. Once an item is released it becomes an order. Taking funds for an order comes with the expectation of delivery within 30 days unless otherwise specified. Not that I mind but still...

If it's an out of stock item then technically it would be a "back order".

They tolerate it for game launches, it’s mind boggling they can’t do it with this. How many people pre order games that don’t even have release dates!

take cyberpunk 2077, how many times has it been delayed, yet they don’t have people constantly asking them if there is an update.

If you look in the games section they did moan...a lot
And gog they never took £1,000+ for the game ;)

Assuming you continuously do it for 10 hours a day, and assuming a certain level of stress caused by the condescending tone of certain moderators on this forum when you log in to get your daily dose of disappointment, (I'll skip the long calculation and get to the final numbers) that will save up up to one and a half kg of extra body mass, so your final weight gain will be "just" 12kg

I’m still within consumer law then as the card I ordered hasn’t technically been released yet.

The concept is the same, but that's about it.

Other retailers are very informative on websites, and engaging through social media.

If other companies can find the time to provide frequent update on stock, why can't OC?

There's an obvious dichotomy between new posters and long-term members, and I think that maybe those more tenured members, have rose-tinted glasses (not speaking about yourself in particular)

People have a right to complain when there's a lot of money involved, so I really can't understand why OC don't look to satiate this.

Have a member of staff provide updates twice a day, and be more specific with stock levels, as 'okay' isn't really measurable.

Something as barebones as 1 - 10, very small, 11 - 20, small etc.

More customer service goes a long way. You can please everyone all the time, but at least make an effort.
I don’t think they are allowed to say numbers, I think that was said a while back. I think that’s some BS from further up the 3080 food chain.

I think a problem for this also, is people see the forum as CS outlet, but it really isn’t and never has been, it’s community which then has a hint of company or product information.

I agree that maybe having more members of staff on here, rather than leaving it to the mods might be a good idea. But maybe with the level of enquires through other means, or staffing levels, or even COVID, it isn’t possible.

Any way, this is a digression.
