So again, as far as im concerned there is no defending this, for a Reference based card the only thing that should really be changed is the cooler bolted onto it and potentially OC. If you start changing the power delivery away from the reference design then you better make sure the new design and components are fit for purpose, if they are not, again you are not only diminishing your brand but the name Nvidia gets dragged into the mud as well, so again, Nvidia should be policing these, and im fairly certain much of this stuff when based on reference design is policed by Nvidia.
.
I thought it was confirmed that Nvidia approves all AIBs GPU designs before they go on retail?

You should never give advice as you only have one option. Never ask for advice from a one tracked mind. Nobody i have ever talked to or listened to think Nvidia was a great option back then. At least when i give advice i am trying to get people to buy whats good for the money. You on the other hand are just saying Nvidia. Seriously though it's so close to being a paper launch as you can see from the owners thread. Yea there is some owners but far less than usual as the stock is so low

Seriously? I advise people to do what is best for their money for them I don't let my dislike of AMD cloud my judgement when advising other people.

I've dozens of times in this section recommended people to buy ATI/AMD GPUs when appropriate and you'll find many instances of me recommanding Ryzen CPUs to people in the CPU section and I've built a whole load of 1600, 1700 and 2600 based systems for other people.

For instance a machine I built for my dad:

You are talking rubbish.

EDIT: Actually kind of amusing as I still get called an Intel fanboy in the CPU section despite recommending Ryzen CPUs over Intel while most were still recommending Intel and generally rubbishing most of Intels latest efforts i.e. https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/32851788

In many ways I wish the X79 platform didn't hold up so well in terms of features and performance - it is much harder to justify spending money on upgrading when it still holds in there.

yep, I've oeften thought if upgrading then think stuff it, got two M2 drives running 3.5gbs through BIOS mod, 64GB ram and a 8 core cpu, why would I want more for gaming other than the GPU... the x79 will last a few more years, infact i run two of them, this one and the 2nd rig with a 6core in it... X79 best chipset ever made imho, as it allowed so much expandability... USB3 as well... full speed SATA's if so inclined... amazing, had this rig for 8 years now lol... insane.

They actually gave you a decent amount of PCI-e lanes and things like the reinforced CPU socket with built in backplate, etc. it feels positively like a step down when I work with other systems that have more run of the mill configuration even when they are newer and more expensive.

Wow. No one is talking about it in here. Ampere thread was on fire when that presentation was on.

Hardly anyone is talking about it in the CPU section either.

AMD really bringing it with the 5000 series though - the advantage over the i9 10900K in general stuff is pretty huge and in gaming pretty solid and they've paid attention to latency in gaming applications.

AMD just do not know how to create desire and excitement relative to Nvidia. That said that 5950X looks like a beast! I will either end up with that in 2 years time or the 5900X :D

GPU stuff coming up (only teasers though).
They hardly said ef all about it. Seems the driver team is still trying to get the most out of it.

Also notice she said it is the best GPU AMD have ever created, rather than best GPU ever made. So basically not as good as 3900 then?

If that background graph is correct then Big Navi is between 11 and 15% faster than the 2080ti.
