AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

So AMD just killed all the "Big Navi will be 3070 perf max" people. The benchmarks they showed were only slightly under the 3080, if not right there with it considering margin of error of a few fps and that AMD are quite conservative when it comes to releasing their own benchmarking figures on stage.

There's a chance that it might not even be the best GPU AMD have got for Navi 2X.

Quite likely, plus this will be ref perf, aib models are usually performing better.

No, its the best. That’s an absolute guarantee imo.

I'd guess it will be about 5-10% under a 3080 overall. Just needs to be priced right. I cant see a 3070 being that fast either.

Nah 3070 is dead on arrival the Nvidiakiller card.

LOL. If they used a navi22 for that then...

seems plausible to me.

Nah, they would've said.

Not really, still have to announce oct 28 so why not you know jebait and sandbag as they kept doing for a while. Rumors this number card sits as the n22 the mid range big navi.

They were vague about that radeon showcase intentionally.
People analyze language and words so...
poker face

It could be the best one or the low end one but in any case we all know about the AMD Finewine drivers. If it's so close to the 3080 right now then what do you think will happen 6 months after launch. I expect it to match the 3080 when drivers mature.
If the price is around £50-£100 less than the 3080 then it's gonna be a great deal for a card that is essentially the same performance level.
If they try to sell it for the same price then the 3080 will be the better deal due to RTX and DLSS. AMD needs to provide the feature set as well as the performance to really compete.

Probably Navi 23 or Navi 22, whatever it's called, or heavily cut the best.

I agree, Nvidia are aiming the 3070 the day after the Big navi 2 Launch to steal sales, the only way AMD can counter this? Utterly blow the 3070 into the water with a card that meets the 3080 head on and only just slightly priced above the 3070 bracket or equal too it, we know AMD is using a cheaper to produce card all around so it's gonna be popcorn for sure!

AMD are finally playing Nvidia at it's own games, and personally think they are going to win this time out.
Intel just got smashed!

Just using the Gears of war 4k ultra

2080 Ti = 62fps Average

3080 = 76fps in above link

Big navi shown here = 73fps

~ 14% over 2080Ti

~ 4% slower than 3080

Choo choo derailing imminent?

Is it really derailing? So they've basically matched the 3080 with more VRAM. Isn't that what most AMD users wanted? If they hit a cheaper price point, its a very very viable alternative to NVIDIA. The 3090 for most of us is an irrealvant grossly overpriced card. It's all about the 3080.

The main question then becomes, do you trust in RTX + DLSS to be widely adopted moving forwards or do you trust in that 6GB of VRAM to come in more use moving forwards?

DLSS for me is great BUT there are two games I wanted to play where it wasn't implemented recently. RDR2 and HZD. Heck, I haven't actually played a game I've wanted to where DLSS is used (will change with Cyberpunk).

As someone who isn't a fan of either company, I'm torn if this is the case on who to buy from.

I expected AMD to flop and come under the 3070 performance and better it in a few games. If its matching the 3080... given the new consoles are based on AMD architecture...
