*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Its interesting reading about one of the reasons there's a shortage of cards is that card manufacturers had to keep production lines of the 2000 series cards going much longer than usual to meet demand through the global lockdown. Round about April and May, when the 2000 series cards would normally have been winding down production in a normal year with a renewal cycle in it, people faced with lockdown and boredom started buying gaming PC's or upgrading their graphics cards, thus there was suddenly a big unexpected demand late in the day for the 2000 series cards. Right through the Summer suppliers have had to keep production going high to meet demand. Thats inevitably had a knock on effect for the new 3000 series cards as they've just not had the production band width to be able to make enough of them.

Definitely some weirdness with the queue numbers people are getting, I ordered an eagle at midnight on the 17th and got position 865, but on the spreadsheet I'm seeing people who ordered hours before me in the 900's and 1100's

865 seems right to me looking at the eagle data for midnight between 17th and 18th. Queripel's 1152 at 15:20 is a known mistake on OC's part, same as my 1142 at 15:16 in the MSI queue, and a couple of other people's. Most of us have been promised it'll be fixed so that is waiting now.

Only other odd one I see is yours. Its down as 11:59am on the 18th, or just before midday. Looks to me like it should be 23:59 on the 17th?

This isn't the case. When you check the configurator the 3080 and 90 all have red dots to show out of stock.
I just checked and saw green with BTO, I think they get separate OEM stock without retail packaging for these, as a competitor was rebuked for sending the non retail out in minimal wrapping causing damage to the plates.

Only 3 entries have been submitted to the spreadsheet for it, so not much data at all (come on people, submit your queue position), but the third one was a purchase on the 28th with queue position 168, so far from the longest queue, but also not that short, no new data for two weeks, and I'm not sure we've heard of any shipments going out.

So for now, by all data we see on spreadsheet, Asus looks like most popular GPU, the TUF series especially. But even STRIX OC have got over 1k orders.

Anyone got a Palit yet?
Nothing in the Spreadsheet about Palit shipments so thought I would shout out.

There was meant to be a shipment on Friday (according to the official Palit Twitter). But from what I've seen no one has had one yet. The ASUS cards last week were dispatched a day later too, maybe the weekend has slowed things down. I'm 122 in the queue so doubt I will be getting one, but fingers crossed they get dispatched next week

I ordered the strix oc 3080 on the 8th Oct. I haven't got an email update on queue position, would anyone have a clue roughly what position I would be? Would it be well over 500?

It seems like Msi gaming trios are the rarest of cards I haven’t seen any anywhere in a week or so
I see at the other place that a restock is delayed until 19th Oct for the previous and current week.
I'm assuming this will be similar at OCUK and it is possible there is a plan to supply a large batch in one hit. This could be an attempt to restrict people from scalping the small batches on auction sites.
It would make sense for all manufacturers to ship the products out in the same way. The more products that go out in small batches, the more temptation there is for customers to take advantage and sell for large profits.
Obviously we are awaiting larger stock levels by shipment, but it is just a guess that stock is being held back for when they arrive...At least I'm kind of hoping that is the case. Lol :D

I ordered one on 21/09 at 2.23pm, I'm 613th in the queue according to the OCUK queue update email I received on 02/10.

Position <80 for a TUF non-OC.

Seriously thinking about just ditching this whole thing, accepting that I will play cyberpunk on my 1070 and then either:

A) Buy a Big Navi GPU if they look good - rumor is performance is fine they will have a good stock at launch, only thing holding me back is RTX perf confirmation / DLS and whether my monitor is freesync or not
B) Come back to this 3080 non-sense once they actually have stock and have stopped playing silly buggers with marketing
