Happy Tuesday to us all!

lol :D

Despite your attempt to make it a personal issue, answer the question at the end please?

Is every single other UK retailer 'selfish and self centered'? Because OCUK are way out on their own on this one.

Not me, you or any other forumite.....Every...Single...Other...UK...Retailer...is being selfish and self centered?

Or have they made a sensible, stock based decision that is honest, transparent and expectation based?

It's up to the retailers to decide how they want to deal with their customers, it's their business to run and I respect they can run it however they want, if they don't want pre-order headache then that's completely fine by me. I'm not making a judgement on OCUK or any competitors I'm saying that it's the other gamers who are telling the retailers how they ought to operate by demanding they close pre orders. How about OCUK do what they damn well please and if you don't like it you go elsewhere? OCUK are offering a service to people they can't get anywhere else for which gamers who find that service useful (me and many others) are thankful for.

For other gamers many of whom already have secured places in a queue to start telling OCUK how to run their business, especially when that would deny a useful service to other people is just selfish. If you make a pre order and you're not happy with your queue position or the regularity of update or any of that stuff then CANCEL. You can get a complete refund and go elsewhere with your money and for 99% of people get your card way later, that's your prerogative.

We would love to do this, but for this launch the manufacturers simply cannot give us this information generally, sometimes they do, like Inno3D which I posted amount and so far 1/3 of that shipment has been collected by our forwarders in Hong Kong and it is on its way to us, the other 2/3 is still being prepared by Inno3D.

I could post every day but I'd be posting to say no update today, if you guys truly want me to be posting updated saying no update then fine but that will just clutter up the thread. I'd rather only post meaningful information about deliveries.

Right now the manufacturers cannot give me anything and they also do not have fixed days when they do update me their updates are random and can come at any time so its not possible on a Monday to post the weekly forecast because the manufacturers are not organised to do that or simply do not know.

It is extremely frustrating for us all.

Hope you get those silly reviews on trustpilot deleted.

Thanks for your honest reply didn't expect one so fast.

It is extremely frustrating for all of us. Some competitors have posted expected dates for this week when it comes to MSI and EVGA saying stock due 21st-23rd is this something OC is expecting as well?

Also while we have your attention. Last week some MSI 3080 x trio was despatched how come position 12 got his before positions 4 and 5?

I am sorry but I really have no idea on how our internal software works and how someone could jump the queue is like impossible to my knowledge, but that is a side of the business I do not get involved in and am just told the system works on first come first served so it should not happen. Maybe a post in CS section could be more revealing potentially.

I just posted about EVGA.
MSI Gaming Trio 3080 so far we have received and shipped 55 cards since launch and we have over 1000 backorders on that SKU. So far I have not being contacted by MSI or an MSI distributor informing me of more stock yet for this week but again an update could come at any time.

Already have, a FE should be on my doorstep in about 15 minutes. The thing is they have taken money off everyone without knowing how or when they can fulfil orders, to now put the blame on someone else is just wrong. The link that Gibbo has just put up should be on every product page for the 3080 and 3090 so people know the score upfront, not afterwards when the money has been taken.
They know how they will fulfil orders they just don't the when, which is literally down to manufacturers not OCUK. The site clearly explains the order is a pre-order and mentions no reference to when the item will be available, because again OCUK literally don't know. If you're complaining about the people placing orders still and then being salty because they're 1.5k back in the queue then that is literally their own fault and no-one else's. OCUK have made no false impressions that they will be getting their card anytime soon when they place their order. If they're dumb enough to order a card they think will be arriving tomorrow then just like everyone else they can cancel and just like everyone else they agreed to handover the money during the transaction.

I'm not saying OCUK couldn't be more transparent, especially in terms of queue size on the webstore, they could as people suggest provide queue sizes for the different cards on the store but why would they? It make no sense from a business perspective to drive away potential customers to appease the people on the forum. They've made it clear enough both on the store and the forum but people just aren't willing to listen. OCUK aren't going to make decisions which are going to hurt their business, I wouldn't expect them to, you shouldn't either. If you don't agree they should still be allowing preorders or that they aren't stating the queue sizes on the webpages then fair enough, but they're not going to change it because they're under no obligation to do so, thus complaining about it is just wasting everyone's times.

There are far worse companies out there doing far worse and illegal things that your attention would be better spent on than OCUK whose worse sin is not going out of their way to drive their own sales down.

Hi, do you know if you’ll have at least 23 units of the x4 flavour of inno3D 3080s on your forthcoming shipment? I’m 23 in line. Thanks in advance.

It's nice to finally have someone come forward and chat to us all.

First 1/3 is 3090 and 3080 Twin X2.
X3 we expect 50 units as long as no issues and the X4 we expect 15 units.

I understand stand how this can be frustrating, suppliers on my end really grind my gears, particularly with incomplete stock arriving, just email me exactly what is arriving so I can damage control before it lands! right now due to the current pandemic half the time I get the classic "we are ramping back up due to covid" or "we have weeks of back orders" arghhhhhhh!

My main criticism early on in this debacle was lack of information and transparency, I think OcUK have more than fulfilled that now, I don't think we need a colourful animated pie chart to comfort us, we have the information we need right from the horses mouth, Nvidia really is to blame here, and it's not just down to extra demand, non of the manufactures imo had the inventory to supply even a mediocre GPU launch let alone one as popular as this one.

Many thanks again.

It is but if I sit on the forum all day chatting, then we won't be getting any 3000 cards at all, or BIG NAVI, or Ryzen 5000 series and most of our component stock will run out, I only have so much time to spend here unfortunately.

There is no choice, there's no other businesses taking pre orders that I've found and if there was then pre order queues would soon inflate as people try and jump on the queue to try and get near the front. None of which gets you your card faster because the entire supply chain is F'd in the A. And you can cancel your pre order any time you please, so let's not pretend that it's people being suckered into things, if you don't like your position in the queue then just cancel and get your money back. Let's just skip the niceties here and go straight to the bottom line, people want to moan about the state of affairs but they don't want to cancel because they know full well that to get your card as fast as possible you need a preorder queue position as all the preoders are filled first. If there was a better informed choice to go and get people would cancel and go get it, but they're not because there isn't.

Sick of people parading around pretending like they can dictate how other people do their shopping as if the world revolves around them. It's really simple, give people the option and let them choose.
Put your glasses on and re-read my post please. It IS a choice (The fact that OC are choosing the third choice of doing nothing and taking money isn't great). People are being suckered in when they get finance and then its not that easy to cancel. You get finance and there's a mark on your credit history for a start. This makes it difficult to get finance elsewhere quickly.

So OC is the ONLY place you can pre-order? Thats not strictly true. I pre-ordered a strix elsewhere but i spoke to them before ordering and they told me what they were expecting and when. I'm due to get my strix in november and i only ordered last week. Their pre-order queue is short as they are primarily a system builder and i'm told if it gets bigger they will stop.

You say you're sick of people parading around yet thats what you're doing. People are all entitled to their opinions including yourself. I'm still in the queue because i don't have a card and can afford to have multiple orders. I like options. I don't expect in the slightest that my card from OC will arrive first but you've got to be in it to win it and so here i am ;)

There are better informed choices but unfortunately OC prohibit competitor discussion. There are competitors with small queues that will give you accurate estimates. There's competitors with no stock that will happily give you the option to pre-order and will tell you when to expect. People see whats on screen and forget they can contact these companies and speak to a human. People forget how to search properly and rely on googles top results to get them what they want.

I could be speaking rubbish and there's always a risk going with somewhere small but we will see if next month i have my card after ordering a month later elsewhere ;)

Having worked in customer facing roles for a lot of my life when younger i can honestly say none of my employers would have tolerated the way oc have dealt with its customers. The customer is supposed to feel wanted and appreciated. Who can honestly say they feel like that here?

We are not telling oc how to run their business. We're asking a question and imho its a fair one. Why are they the only place still taking pre-orders and why are they doing it without giving potential buyers the information they need to make an informed choice?
