Are competitor's getting more stock than OcUK then or not? Because in the past I was always under the impression that OcUK's buying power gave them priority?
Guess not anymore. Personally I think it's because they are still taking pre orders. Which likely peed of AIBs because they know it's just causing issues and they are never going to be able to fill all of them. Just my thoughts but yeah. If not they must have done something to go from being so confident ocuk is the top dog for stock to then be bottom of the barrel. And lucky if they get the scraps or scrapes of the crap of the AIBs shoes

They have a plastic rear back plate that won't be helping. But the card runs rpm of fans very very slow like 1200-1300 rpm so super quiet. So higher rpm fan speed in line with other cards 1500-1800 will help.
But the direct pipe cooling, lack of good contact like a flat plate and the plastic (fake Graphene) back plate doesn't help.
Exactly, Change the Fan speeds in BIOS to cool further. But as i said in my post. Look at the different scores online and you can see MSi are consistantly cooler with lower fan speeds. Ramp them up to 1500/1800 if your chassis has not got good airflow. Also, i am not planning on over clocking Well not by much so Im confident it will be ok.

I think the other issue is the fact Nvidia delayed the launch of 3070 by two weeks, and yet they still have next to no stock in retaillers even with that extra time period. They claimed to have based sales on the sales of the failed Turing 20xx series but it seems that they aren't even delivering in those quantities. I think they are going to lose an awful lot of sales over this, and the cause appears to be the lack of a decent marketing department.
Much of the tech industry is production led, Apple being a case in point where a product is made and the sales department told to go sell it. There is little market research being carried out into what people want, and this time Nvidia made something at a price point lots of people wanted and were surprised at its popularity.
An apple a day :)
I don't get it. If there's no update from anyone, that means they have no news to give - do you really want a daily forum post says sorry no news today???? What purpose would that serve?
by the amount of people asking for just that i'm going to have a guess and say yes :p
Well, if you mass-produce GPU's which are slower than AMD's then you will see people returning said GPU's back and that is a net loss, if you withhold your GPU supply, you avoid the distribution and manufacturing costs associated with producing a GPU that few people want, because AMD's GPU is faster (ignoring features like DLSS & Raytracing)

How many Nvidia RTX 3000 GPU's will be produced is determined by how much demand will swing towards AMD, once Nvidia figures out the "real" demand for their GPU's, they will adjust the supply to meet that demand. At the moment, Nvidia don't know this demand until AMD shows what they've got so that customers can make up their minds on which card they're going to pick.
nvidia had enough of a head start in that they could have supplied and kept their customers. I don't think amd are going to come close to the 3080 but would be cool if they could upset the boat a little. i suspect nvidia caused this purposely but didn't realise how bad it would make things. They still have the better card and they wont lose any sleep over this demand problem. The longer they can keep it up without stock sitting on shelves is only helping keep prices inflated :P

dont see how hard it is for ocuk to just adopt this approach at giving updates, even if there is no news, at least we will know
They said they wont be doing updates when nothing to update about. So Anyone with even ONE brain cell can work out that no update then nothing to report.
It's not hard its called Logic.

You only need to look at the ample information competitors are providing to prove they are getting more stock.
Ye looked at information they geting same stock.. Big xxxxxx all.

NO, It's crystal clear that OCUK aren't a partner with Nvidia. They've yet to fulfil day one orders.
Like every store on planet ?? Dont know a single store that cleared up 2000k+ preorders But I'm happy for You to point that store to me on PM I'll happy go buy there.

The ASUS TUF is the best cooling all round so far. They went all out on the TUF even better than the strix cooler. In a lot of ways. They lost a lot of respect for TUF brand over last cards they did the team who works on TUF brand went all out on components and cooler. The extra cooler system for the G6X ram is so cool. Surprised they didn't do it on Strix too, that's why I think two different teams working on Strix and tuf. More should do that. But I bet it's a big expense doing what they did. Very very impressed with the ASUS TUF. 60-62c all all tests I've seen. 8-14c cooler than orhers

There's a saying "If you're scared of coming across as an idiot, keep your mouth shut rather than opening it and removing all possibility".
There's lots here at stake for OC, and I'm sure their silent running tactics have been considered carefully as to the pros/cons.

someone seen people grabbing asus 1200 quid 3080's in 5 minutes when they showed up in store wont expect much to change. Interested to see how big navi does in 4k myself :) Heard rummors they are on market 10th of november.

You have a link to those temperatures I'd be especially interested in the ones we can't get in Europe - colorful.

Well said. As I see atm no matteer what OCUK does bunch of angry people with no product over a month and that wont change till well december of january.
Id sit quiert myself and let people MOAN WHINE and CANCEL preorders.
With how stock is there is nothing OCUK can do to please people so why bother.

make sure you all start to fill out trustpilot reviews for ocuk based on your 3080 experience. Encourage any friends who hace a back-order with OCUK to do the same.

Maybe a new wave of 1 star reviews will wake up Mr Banana Ferrari who seems to have started to ignore us again.

The thing is OCUK have exactly the same copy paste responses to the negative reviews.

I'm still waaaay back in the queue still but I see no reason to put negative reviews on trustpilot - the lack of 3080 stock isn't really their fault, yes they could stop pre-orders but equally you can not pre-order from them it's the same argument on every page.

Be nice if deliveries do pick up in the next week or two so we can general ideas of how long we'll have to wait in our respective queues but it is what it is.

I am aware that competitor discussion is frowned upon here and could earn you a suspension. Thing is when you can garner more information from them about stock delivered in the u.k than the company that took your money then something fishy is going on.
As I said a couple of posts back if I don't see someone, anyone receive a tuf card this week be it o.c or non I'm gone and my money is going you know where.
I get that stock is in short supply but o.c should be embarrassed by the lack of information given to regular customers and new customers. If Gibbo worked for me he would have his p45 weeks ago.
