Currently on a Vega 64 which has served me well but the 6800XT is what I will be getting.

lm hoping for a Sapphire Nitro 6800XT as those cards have always had great build quality and cooling efficiecy.

I disagree slightly here. I have new bounds of epeen being the demo Jensen had where select users got to play 8k games. The other form of epeen is the high refresh fps/mhz users as they seem to be really defensive of any criticism especially obfuscating advice when you say to people about CPU's to just up the resolution and the GPU has to handle the work. An observation I have seen on here.

I dont think people that own a 4k display are stereotypical 'epeen' candidates. I am quite content with near 60fps at this resolution or at 1440p and spent less than £200 on the display. I suppose it depends on your image of epeen, really I guess its showing off but we all grew up with kids like this and it applies to every hobby to be fair.
i like both, 1440p & 4K

i own around 12 monitors with various Stats ranging from 1080p 240hz to 4K 120Hz

I like all of them but each have their disadvantages.

i think of it as this
Competitive - 1080p 240Hz+
At Home FPS gaming - 1440P 144hz+
Story Games/Open World - 1440p ultrawide/4K

The 6800XT looks great but I am disappointed in the upselling going on from the 6800.
It's a similar situation to the CPUs where the 'value' proposition is now seemingly in the enthusiast tier.

I'm not sure I can justify the 6800XT and the 6800 and 3070 seem like pretty poor value in comparison so may just wait it out for a while. Still look like great products and understand why AMD are pricing to be competitive in the current market (which they clearly are based on official benchmarks at least) rather than drive down prices but it is a shame for those of us looking for top value in the mid-range tier.

Maybe the 6700XT will come out in a few months and make the 6800 obsolete, but if it doesn't the 5700XT looks like a strong buy for those jumping in a few months ago or earlier.

Ditto... I have a 4k60fps and a 1440p 144hz monitor on my desk to cover both bases! :)

The 6800 is actually pretty close to the 6800XT, all things considered. In performance terms it's between the 3070 and the 3080.

Went from Sapphire Vega 56 Pulse to Sapphire 5700XT Nitro... Will be very hard to not buy a 6800XT Nitro as long as 5700XT resale isn't hit too hard!

I have two monitors one is 1440p / 144hz / G-sync and the other is 2160p / 60hz / Freesync & G-sync / HDR.

So it kind of forces my hand to Nvidia as the 144hz display will benefit the most from sync technology. Unless it is compatible with freesync (EDIT: It isn't...).

Yeah but to state 4k users are epeen.. is a bit vague and too stereotypical knee jerk playground spouting in my book.

Dont forget both AMD and nvidia stated before the launches they are bringing gaming to the 4k masses, this is all I want 4k60fps nothing more especially not if its going to double the prices!

For me the most surprising thing is the 16GB across the board!
What that says is that AMD could easily drop prices on certainly the 6800XT and 6900XT if needed as there's no significant manufacturing cost increase vs the 6800...it gives them ammo to fight against any Ti shenanigans from Nvidia.

Forget the carp watchdogs game, i just want to know if it can run Assassins Creed Odyssey at 60fps lol

I swear this game has replaced ‘can it run crysis’ in my mind.

I can’t play it on my 5700XT, i have given up.

Im going to leap further. Vega 56 Pulse to 6800XT (maybe) which should be nice step. Would be less of a leap if I was on a 5700XT.

i might upgrade to the rx 6800, from a r9 390, should get 2-3 times the performance, depending on resolution. But only if the priceis £500 or less.

Also usually over clocked will be interesting how much more

That's not how I saw the numbers from AMD which included 4-13% uplift from the memory access.
I'll wait on some full reviews though obviously but some crude calcs and the 3080 looks to offer less perf/$. Typically I would expect to get more as you go down the stack to the mid-range.
Any of these will be a big improvement on my 1660 Super though.

A post on Guru3D suggested that the 6800 is the same die as the 6800XT but with aspects disabled. Is that confirmed and will they just be bios disabled or physically somehow?

The 6800 has 60CUs and the 6800XT has 72CUs. The 6900XT has 80CUs and uses the full Navi 21 chip.
