Update: Don't place too much stock in x570 - B550 is just as good, if not better

Howdy people, exciting day! I'm hoping to snag a 5600x later to replace the barebones in my old i5 4670K build. Any recommendations on a good board without spending a fortune? Doesn't need WiFi, should be ATX (replacing MSI Z87-G45 GAMING) and would prob prioritise 570 over 550 instead of extra features. Blimey, just remembered I'll need 32GB of new memory too.
Going to pair with existing 1080TI and use machine for gaming and work, though the latter isn't anything heavy.

Hey that's my PSU!

I'm stuck waiting for the rest of the bits, motherboard and fans are arriving today, Overclockers are holding my memory hostage and the order I placed at the weekend still hasn't shipped (1 hour spent trying to get through to them on phone, not great), SSD is looking like it'll be late though.

I decided given the length of time I will use this system and the amount of ram/cores a top notch power supply was in order... I believe Seasonic are the OEM for Corsair right? and they have great reviews on things like low ripple for overclock etc

I'm currently on a hex core Broadwell i7-6850K with 64G, it's served me well and still rocks for Gaming. But with the latest Windows updates my overclock is ignored (4.3 all core), so the only way forward is more cores and 128G! ;)

Good call on not the Kraken AIO. The number of folks on the FB groups who wouldn't considering anything else is depressing :p

Yea, so for the 5800x and 5950x they need to get a complete CCX, whereas 5600x and 5900x, you can have 1-2 bad cores, hence why they seem to have more stock of those.

hahah yeah, tbh I might have gone for a large Galahad if they'd been released in UK sooner - but this is fine :)
 
overclock is ignored?

But yeah I currently have X570 Tomahawk, 32GB Ballistix 1600, NH D15 ready to go in my old Enthoo Luxe case - PSU was supposed to turn up today but DPD not showing as having received it!
