RYZEN 5000 SERIES NOW ONLINE - 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X COMING NOV 5TH AT 5PM **NO COMPETITORS**

I got mine in quite early so hopefully stock was allocated. Took a risk and added other in stock stuff since I’m doing a full build, but hopefully their order system is smart enough to allocate in order.

Bugger :(... Maybe I'll get a chance at one release at some point in the future. PS5.. AMD5900x... The article really should have been updated with the new time, even if it said edit at the top. I've placed an order anyway for the 5900x, I'm assuming placing an order after 5pm puts me so far back in the queue, it'll be 2021?

So what happened then? Similar to the Nvidia launch - website crashes all round? Did all the UK stock sell out in minutes or was it hours? With the Nvidia launch it seemed like hardly anyone got a card in the first week, did most Ryzen buyers get what they wanted today?

When's more stock expected into the UK?

I just realised i panicked and chose Saturday delivery from a competitor as i thought it was Friday :D

It would have been nice to order from OcUK but whole site was down for 20 mins. No different to 3080 launch day.

Azure/AWS web hosting needed i think. Imagine how many customers would buy from OcUk if they could connect to the site!

On here. Most likely. Gibbo fluffed comms with that 5pm thread header. I think most people had an inkling it would be 2pm and were proved correct.

Yep site hung and sold out pretty much instantly.

Stock went live couple minutes before 2pm, added the 5900X to basket, stormed through checkout, paypal, and then kept getting endless timeouts, about 2:20pm it finally loaded but with an error saying "your basket is empty". By the time I added it to my cart and finally managed to check out again it was 2:39pm. So who knows where I am in the queue, hopefully close enough to the front so the CPU actually ships next week, loads of people placed orders pretty late.

im 1 of 4

failed the 5950x, failed the Ps5 and failed the Xbox series X. All Amd related. My only win was snagging an Rtx 3090 Asus Strix OC early which arrived last week.

thank god I don’t have to get into the 6000 series release!

Try not to worry too much. I am pretty sure you'll get all of the above before I am able to purchase an ASUS RTX 3080 OC, at an retail price :(

Wall of .txt warning

I had seven sites open at 13:50 and logged in with Accounts setup on all. OCUK opened sales at 13:59 according to Win 10 clock. I started to proceed for 5900x. Got it in basket. Tried to checkout. Waited 2 minutes of hanging. Refreshed page, and then went back to buy page & refreshed. Basket showed empty. Hit add to basket again. Got warning, csnnot buy same item twice. Hit show basket, it froze up.

Meanwhile at other place #1 I was in the auto-add-to-basket queue thing, which keeps retrying automatically. Pretty cool, I left it to.it.

At other places #2 through #5 they had missed the memo or otherwise forgotten to hit the go button. Nada. They were just too cool to care.

At other place #6 it flipped from available soon to pre-order directly. They never had it in stock at all.

At other place #7 it was entered (in basket) and churning. They asked me to login again...hmm must be security thing.... I got my password wrong, my fingers were slippy (must have been that 'other' website...ahem). Finally got in and it slowly went through. OCUK site had really given up the ghost by then, unfortunately. total http not available. I flipped to these forums, and even here was not loading up right...

Ah well, got one heading my way on Nov 20, if place #7 sticks to their confirmation email.....

I honestly can’t see anyone getting anything at launch time; probably best to be a few minutes late after all the timeouts.
