My hair transplant journey

Because not everyone can have it done. If your donor area at the back of your head is not sufficient, then you're screwed. No matter how much money you have.

Elon Musk has had it done though.

Yeah, he did OK out of it....

even cuckolded Johnny Depp (allegedly) which is rather impressive (if true):

The alternative route, shaving it off... G-MAN makes a valid point here:
"Just shave it bro. Works for The Rock and Vin Diesel!"

What most people look like when they shave it:

Good luck OP! Keep us updated.

you've gotta make sure to lift, bro:

Don't think it was down to his looks (or lack of them) :p

What do you mean? She dated billionaire Elon Musk when he had the good hair, what else could it be? :D

(tbh.. it's not so much that she's a gold digger, not like she got anything from Elon, but more the power/status that is attractive too there)

Out of interest, did anyone here get transplants to make an existing head of hair fuller and thicker to combat further age-related thinning, or did you just wait until you were already losing it so badly that it was obvious?

I have always had a full head of fine and thin hair, but due to it being so fine it is getting noticeably (to me, looking in the mirror every day) thinner up top and I want to get in there before other people start to really notice any loss and also make it fuller and thicker for the next 10-15 years. I don't want to thin to the point where it's really noticeable and then suddenly and obviously have more hair.

If I had the right shaped round head for a buzz cut I wouldn't even be asking this question, but I think that I would genuinely look like something out of American History X or a member of some skinhead gang, and where I live that's not a popular look. :D

That's the main thing. Most women who find rich men attractive find them attractive because of the power/status they have and the money is a result of their overachieving. Not actually due to the money itself. A small percentage are only concerned about how much actual cash they can get from said man, they're the broken ones.

So OP what were the results? ;) I see you reading the thread..

Isn’t it better to get it done later than earlier? I.e in your case you may need to do it again in a few years? As thinning will appear where it wasn’t before.

But in your case I wouldn’t hesitate to get it done now and then in future too, like you say to keep on top of it.

I've been meaning to update the thread with my progress. I was just so relieved to go out there and still get it done despite all what's been happening.
The clinic were amazing, I couldn't fault a single thing and I'm extremely pleased with the results.

I'll post some pictures and more info when I get chance in a couple of days.

Please don’t be offended by this but I’ve never understood being so vain or self conscious as to consider paying out to have a hair transplant but that aside I hope it goes well and you get what you want/expect.

Same. I starting balding in my early 20s. 20 years later and I'm pretty much bare on top and I don't give a toss.

Never understood the worry about losing hair.

As long as you're happy OP then it's your prerogative to do whatever you want with your money :)

It's great that you aren't bothered about hair loss, but if you can't understand why anyone else worries about losing their hair then I would be a bit surprised as it's nothing new and the psychology behind it isn't exactly rocket science.

Looks like some kind of reaction, or is that normal? I’d be wary of turkey and India etc due to fake reviews etc always that risk factor.

glad it’s gone well for OP though

It's the lottery with turkey hundreds every month are being treated by the NHS for botched jobs causing issues.

Lips, butt implants, hair transplants.

I can't believe people would risk their health in this way just because it's cheaper.

Just type turkey botched tourist procedures into Google plenty of people coming back some even with long term health issues as a result

Four out of five UK cosmetic surgeons are dealing with more corrective cases than ever and it’s costing the NHS more than £30million to correct.

"I see around ten patients a month who have had cosmetic surgery in a clinic somewhere like Turkey and have returned home with problems, some of which are life-threatening," says Dr Riccardo Frati, Medical Director of Transform Cosmetic Surgery.

People have died getting these procedures done.

Nope how can I empathise on something I don't understand?

But I am a bit thick so it's probably why. :)

I'm struggling to see what the point in a transplant is without being resigned to the fact you're on Finasteride for the rest of your life.

Yeah that's the thing... I mean you get plenty of notice when you start balding so... if you're gonna take that stuff then might as well before you get to the point where you need a transplant.

Seems like a lot more to deal with if you let yourself get to the point where it is really noticeable, don't want to shave it off then decide to go for a transplant and have to take the anti hair loss drug to then protect the transplanted hair that you perhaps could have given a shot before it got to that point.

I'm 29 been getting thinner and thinner on top as the years go by specifically at the crown.
Eventually just decided to shave down to a 1 last month and been liking it so far, specially that maintenance is 0 apart from running the shaver over it once in a while.
