What are you / have you purchaded instead?I cancelled my 5900x order today with a competitor, my order came through at 2.12pm on the 5th but I ended up 962 in queue, as I need to build a machine for xmas present I felt very uncertain on getting the 5900x in time.
It's quite simple - Apple has Tim CookWhen Steve Jobs was still around, Tim was COO - he was responsible for fixing and running Apple supply chain - and he was crazy good at that. He transformed the company and much of the Apple success belongs to him - that's why he was chosen as CEO when Steve passed away.
Apple has the best supply chain in the world, it's not even comparable to any other company including AMD or NVIDIA. Imagine how many people want new iPhone in comparison to Ryzen3 or RTX3080 - and Apple can still handle it reasonably.
Those excuses you hear "Oh, we didn't know so many people will want to buy our product", "It's a demand issue - not supply", etc etc... those are just lies to naive people to cover up their lack of ability to supply product. Don't you think that NVIDIA and AMD would love to have the stock to fill the demand ASAP and get those billions of dollars that people still have in their pockets and want to give them?
4-6 weeks if you ordered launch day, so probably 2021 as a guessIf i order the 5600X now does anyone know the current ETA for dispatch?
I had just about bought the 10700k/msi tomahawk for £480 after cashback as I felt it was good value . I then cancelled and waited for the ryzen line-up, I thought if I could get one at rrp on the 5th then great, but it wasn't to be , so I have reverted to my original plan although this time I get assasins creed game chucked in too. What are you / have you purchaded instead?

Not sure why people are scrambling to pay over the odds for a chip that has the same performance as Intel had 6 months ago.I ordered a 5800x from a competitor earlier today, there was 8 in stock.
I ordered it for £512, thought I was picking up a bargain, after I made the order I quickly realised I had made a big mistake and was paying nearly £100 more than my OCUK pre-order.
Luckily I was able to cancel and have now been refunded.
Silly mistake.
There are now 0 in stock on the competitor's website, so people are desperate for these.

Its the price hiking also that gets me, With Apple they set the price and thats it, no "ohh the £ is doing bad so we have to pay more" Price is set and it stays that way
So why does it say this in the email? It wont have changed.
The numbers are pre-orders after the initial stock all sold.
Where is the Ryzen 5000 series status FAQ please?Given that I am 589 in the queue for a 5900X and there are 1496 outstanding pre orders for the 5900X, this means a 2.5 week wait.
Anyone else can estimate their delivery from the numbers on the Ryzen 5000 series status FAQ.
Received an email last night , after I had asked an estimated delivery time . For me it’s going to be 7+ weeks minimum
when did you order?
the 7th so I was late to the party
I would have done the same but I want to use the ryzen 5 series with the new gpu’s . I’m not waiting for 2 months though so I’ll just have to pay moreI ordered on the 6th, wonder if it’s 2021 for me as well then...
It’s my first ever build and I’m starting to think if i should just get i9 or used 3950x instead...
You queue position will obviously go down as pre orders are fulfilled. So why does it say this in the email?
"You are currently in queue position 767. Please keep checking your emails, we will send an update after each shipment with your new position".

Especially as its all estimates. Unless AMD have promised of course that they can get thousands to OcUK in the next x months. The whole ETA thing is rather annoying.Imo overclockers should not be taking orders for such a huge backlog, I would never have imagined that I would be waiting 2 months minimum for a damn cpu .
