AMD RYZEN 5000 SERIES 5950X, 5900X, 5800X & 5600X NOW ONLINE AT OcUK!!

I guess it would be a bit of a long shot that frequent customers of OCUK get a head start over first timers :) But since I read that AMD only shipped out a few hundred globally, this doesn't spell good for waiting times. I honestly think that based on the expected demand due to the massive hyping and glaring reviews by these you tube reviewers etc, they should have anticipated and produced like many times more of what they have and be able to meet demand. I've used AMD since 1998, but right now it looks like they're a huge company acting like a small one.

Edit: but frankly, I think they should cut these super duper great reviews of the Ryzen 9 5000 or the Radeon 6000 series until they are readily available for everyone - else it's just cruel for those in Europe and elsewhere outside of North America.

OC appears to have stock of the 6800 at the moment.

That's a fair point. I'm upgrading purely because it means I can get a few more years out of my rig and have more horsepower for photo editing.

If this had turned out to be a 3xxx XT XT, I would have skipped it.

I suspect they were expecting most upgraders to be on gen 1 or 1.5.

Yeah exactly. I'm upgrading from a 4670k and a 280x so its due for me lol

I really hope everyone gets their CPU soon! I would have thought stock is going to improve before too long. Took delivery of the final piece of the puzzle today. It's on like Donkey Kong!
 
When I called up OC the other day I asked about the general status of things with 5900, etc. What I was told was that everyone that ordered on the day of launch should have it by the end of November... Something that I'm doubting very much at this point unless some absolutely massive shipments arrived.
 
The 3950X seems to be pretty good as well, given that it's only a fraction cheaper than the 5900x-5950x and in some cases is even more expensive. I might just consider throwing that one in as I want to upgrade my comp this December when I have some time on my hands to do so. The 5950. I can always buy later next year when supply finally will meet demand or whatever.

Yes, would be really useful to know if this logic still applied
 
From what I can gather, initial launch stock sold out quick (which is okay) but the substantial follow-on stock has been significantly delayed. Once this 'boat comes in' I'd expect pretty much all pre-orders to be filled, then the much lower the weekly order rate will be met by regular weekly deliveries. I don't this significant shortage (and price gouging) will last more than another 2-3 weeks.
