Wow, Nvidia have banned Hardware Unboxed from receiving review samples...

inwouldnt read too much into that poll - otherwise I'd just say that poll shows that 23% of their 18 game average benches should include rt and dlss games ;)

They did test 5 games with DLSS and RT in their 6900XT review. Not Dirt 5 or Godfall or WoW Shadowlands though so it was an NV clean sweep so obviously they are AMD shills.

Doubt they care. Money talks, and they've made a fortune

True enough, however on my next purchase I definitely won't be buying at launch and I'll be waiting to see if they launch cards with a reasonable amount of VRAM from the off. Will also wait to see if they continue to waste effort on technologies that I don't think the majority of people are that interested in and aren't always well supported by developers.

First time seeing that, it's absolutely disgusting. I don't know how they dare try to speak for "gamers" or the rest of the industry. It's not even accurate, HU usually do test RT and DLSS but they don't make it the focus of their videos in such a way that it will obviously favour Nvidia. Plus it's only really affecting the supply of FE cards, I doubt HU are that bothered.

I think it's pretty telling that they've been sending more cards to 'influencer' types who maybe don't examine things in that much depth but will push the hype (no hate for 'influencers' BTW, I'd be chuffed if I got free stuff too).

They tested 4 games with RT enabled (just after the 18 game average) so that is 22.2%, so they are bang on the money.

HUB have the same opinion as me. RT is great but it costs too much FPS. DLSS is great but it is not wide spread enough. These two statements are factual. Once DLSS is in more games it becomes a feature that will make a difference to a general recommendation.

Also HUB did a poll asking their viewers what they were basing their buying decision on for a GPU.

But sure, HUB are out of touch with the gaming community when it comes to focusing on rasterization performance.

Now ask these voters to describe ray tracing......

It was 5. Control, Metro, Tomb Raider, Fortnite and Watch Dogs so none of the game AMD does well in like Dirt 5 or WoW.
Good point my mistake so they actually tested 27.7% of RT games, that's more than fair based on what their own user base wants to see i think.

FYI Jayz2cents confirmed that AIBs need to send Nvidia a list of who they are sending review samples to for Nvidia to approve.

Hmm, I was just going on the wording of the e-mail where it says:

Hardware Unboxed should continue to work with our add-in card partners to secure GPUs to review. Of course you will still have access to obtain pre-release drivers and press materials, that won't change.

A few people on AT forums made the point that displaying strong-arm tactics again while waiting for regulatory approval for buying ARM, might not be such a good idea.
So where does one make a submission to the regulators? I'm sure companies in the ARM business have made such submissions but it would be nice to see consumers make it too.
Actually a pity that Intel killed DEC's old StrongARM brand and it is hence not is not part of that deal as the wordplay would be a great thing in headlines!

is anyone really surprised from NVidia really, this isn't new... this goes back decades.it aint only nvidia that are trying to control the narrative either before anyone jumps on the NVidia bandwagon. they ALL do it.

'buy my mouse mat' .... These Youtube beggars forget what they came from. Maybe he should stick to mouse mats.

Not sure what your point is here. Linus is actually quite open with the way finances work for the Linus Media Group. He did a video on it.

Merchandise is pretty important to maintain a revenue stream and continue to pay the wages of your staff. These "youtube beggars" are often not just 1 or 2 people. They are often large teams (unfortunate really, because solo youtubers cant get nearly the same amount of views)

You should really consider everything Linus said in the video regarding Nvidia. Get beyond merchandise and pretty much everything he said is spot on.

Yes let’s just ignore anything that doesn’t play to your narrative, well done (your taking a lead right out NVIDIAs book here)!

As much as ray tracing is great visually in some games it's not something I personally care about which is why i ended up moving to AMD. Also because it is all I could get at the time.
Hopefully they resolve the issue with this guy because essentially they are saying "if you don't promote the features that our competitor can't beat we are not interested in supporting you as a reviewer"
In reality it shouldn't matter because there are a lot of reviews that seem to favour DLSS and Ray tracing implying Nvidia is the better option?!
Crazy world!
