Wow, Nvidia have banned Hardware Unboxed from receiving review samples...

I count 23 released pc titles with RT support. It can't be the forefront of anyone's mind apart from those trying to justify their 3080 purchases. Although I don't know why, it's a good card

In all honesty yeah it would seem that way. But all I'd ever get was try this workaround or turn that feature off and try again next patch etc. When I built or started to build my current pc in January I didn't know I had to do all those things. I was out of the pc building scene for 6/8 years, my last GPU I did own was a Sparkle GeForce GTX 580 1.5GB, and then a laptop that had a 960m in it. I did have ati stuff in my teens but that was over 15 years ago so can't remember the issues I had. If any back in the 00s.

So I may now have trouble selling the 5700XT if it did needed to he sent back before, I will say recent drivers were ok and I could play CP2077 with the latest drivers. I don't know but it left a sour taste in my mouth and I wasn't alone either. Was hundreds of thousands too.

I don't blame you as that should never be the experience. Over the years i just install the card and game. When i first get a card i like to tinker and see what it's got but after that i just leave it as is and get on with gaming.

Tbh the DLSS is a lot more important than RT because it gives the card a longer lifetime and it solves the 10Gb problem it may have in the future. And it is also what makes playing with RT enabled possible at decent FPS. And it looks great for an upscaling technique, there will always be bugs but it is a very useful thing to have.

Have you experienced any issues with amd software? Because people say amd software is really bad but I haven't experienced any issues yet. Now I am worry if I have done something wrong with installation lol. :D:p

Btw, my last amd card was 7870xt, amd software is much easier to use now and personally I found it better than GFE. Also don't like GFE need login for features.

I was being a tad sarcastic :P no I dont have any driver issues with my 5700 :)

Yet my comment was based on HU being removed form Nvidia's Youtube list(the theme of this thread), which happend before this thread was created

You are being wilfully ignorant, this isn’t a change in tack for them... they were even quoted on Nvidia’s very own website as saying DLSS is “extremely impressive”. That was well before being removed from Nvidia's christmas card list.

edit - see here if you want the proof https://youtu.be/iXn9O-Rzb_M?t=2186

Nvidia don't need you to defend them. AMD and Nvidia are both multi billion dollar companies that are only truly interested in separating consumers from their money as efficiently as possible, thus maximising margins and return to shareholders. Neither needs defending by you or I... What does need to be done is holding them both to account when they mess up, and letting them know we aren't happy with such anti-consumer behaviour.

that said, to cut them off and make such a petty and bitchy statement in doing it, along with that mortifyingly embarrassing email is utter PR suicide. how the person who wrote it ever got into the position he did doing his job i'll never know.
Yes, you'd almost think that Nvidia's whole corporate culture from leather jacket man on down was like that.
ARM licencees must all be looking forward to working with them!

Hardly surprising. The consumer created a monopoly that competitors struggle to compete with. Buying the same brand every generation does that. Monopolies lead to these kinds of dodgy practices. I'm not surprised at all.

It's actually a very serious issue, I'd never buy a piece of tech from a company with a majority market share. It leads to extortionate prices.

AMD CPU, AMD GPU, Nokia phone...

Just like in a heard of sheep you get that odd run away.

Listen you can not defend Nvidia here, its out in the wild and you think all these tech guys jumping at Nvidia they would do it for nothing? Why would they risk getting future products if they dont also see how bad this is? You know what i am happy to see Nvidia getting backlash over this! Its been coming for years its just some people see it before others! Take of them tinted green glasses.

Mate you are talking to mindless zombies. These types are perfectly happy if AMD went bankrupt or exited the gpu market. They would just love Nvidia to become a monopoly so they can control everyone. Just ignore them.

I am very curious how these fanboys will split when Intel enter the GPU market. A lot of them seem to be devoted to Intel cpu and Nvidia gpu, so how will they vote at that point?

I agree. RT will probably become more important but DLSS is handy right now.

Well said. Nvidia will only get worse, if their market share continues to rise.

Ignorant of what exactly? HU were given samples of a product that they failed to fully explore at a time when comparing to a competing product most likely due to the competing product not being ready. Is that really so hard to understand? Are you expecting me to go through HU's history becuase that doesn't change what happened in the here and now. Ignorance? Perhaps you just haven't considered how average consumers use review sites these days.

Things can change, When AMD launched the first Ryzen the CPU room was full of people screaming about Single Threaded performance and about how Intel was going to pull a CPU out of their arse to crush AMD.

About a year later when that didn't happen those people had realised Intel weren't sitting on an AMD crusher, as the years when on with Intel still refreshing the same CPU's with added cores that argument disappeared completely, now a lot of those people are proudly rocking Ryzen CPU's.

Sure there are one or two who keep the faith, but it really is just one or two, AMD for at least a year now have been selling 8 or 9 CPU's to every 1 that Intel sell in the DIY space, the Amazon Best sellers top 12 in CPU's has been almost entirely blocked out with Ryzen CPU's for the whole of 2020.

With Zen 3 AMD hold the performance crown in every metric, including IPC (by a long way) Single Threaded and 1080P gaming, that was not the case with Zen 1, Zen+ or even Zen 2, its taken them 3 years to make Intel completely obsolete in the DIY space but they have done it.

Right now AMD are at the Zen+ (Ryzen 2000) level with GPU's, they have come a long way but they still have a long way to go and there is plenty to clutch onto for those who just want to shout them down, but just wait a while.

Pull the other one. People in the here and now are buying cards on rasterisation performance. RTX is niche at best. Nvidia acting the like Mafia running a protection racket via benevolent marketing funds won't change that in the lifetime of the card.

do find it bizarre how many people are kissing up to nvidia over this. end of the day nvidia is messing with them because they want them to run ray tracing first and to hell with anything else because thats all that counts now to ALL GAMERS according to this pr muppet.
