*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

There's no need to take that tone, I was merely trying to be helpful.

I don't know how the emails are generated. It might be related to the custom app that our IT guys wrote for the general manager which enables him to manage the stock allocation. However they work I'm sure that the Strix was not missed intentionally, there's absolutely no reason why it would be.

I'll see if I can find out what happened on Monday.
Thanks for looking into it for us if it helps it’s the second time there’s been a issue with the queue update emails for the strix oc cards the first time no one got a email a couple of weeks ago and this week it looks like from people’s comments no one below 700 in the queue got there email.

Bit of an off topic question whilst we wait for our 3080's but can anyone give some info on how the 3080 handles cyberpunk at 1080p? (Ignoring bugs and unoptimisation currently)..is dlss 2.0 giving an image quality boost?better on or off?

My resolve cracked last night and I now have an MSI 3090 Suprim coming (plus 850W PSU to handle it). If it arrives and works ok I'll drop out of my queue position (over 700) on the 3080 Gaming X Trio.

To make up for this extravagance I'm going to forego a Mountainbike upgrade this year. Whilst i can afford it all the Derbyshire part of me feels I should pay this penance :)
Hope the Suprim works out well! BTW I have forgone an MTB upgrade since 1995 (Cannondale M500) :p

Hi everyone
No mention of MSI 3080 ventus in the last update (only X Trio).

Do they deliver only their premium cards now?
My queue position has been dropping by around 20 places every week, but at this rate I'll get the card in around 7 months... (!)
Have been waiting for around two months now..
What should I do?

Well just got an order in for an MSI Suprim 3090 was worried about future of 10Gb vram so bit that expensive bullet. When it arrives may cancel my Gaming x trio 3080 as im 543 as of friday and could be a long wait. Looks like the Suprim cards are being stocked at the moment.

Quick thought here that I’m sure has been mentioned already. Since April this year there has been an absolute **** show at U.K. ports with steel containers backed up in car parks and ships have to wait to berth and unload offshore for weeks backing up the whole supply chain of everything coming into the U.K. this was mainly triggered by the pandemic. Now normally the alternative to shipping is air freight but with global air travel at 30% of normal and not improving anytime soon then this is another stumbling block to works supply chains especially to island nations like ours. Factor in a pretty likely hard Brexit with no trade deal and subsequent raid on sterling what is this effect going to have on receiving computer components from the Far East. I fear the next 12 months is not going to be pretty for graphics cards or for that matter anything else that needs to be imported. Clementines and bananas I’m looking at you!

This is not a political post btw.

Is 850W enough for the 3090? I know 750W is the minimum for 3080 but I've heard it's better to go a bit above the minimum with these cards.

No easy answer there, it's up to you. As far as I'm aware all cards are still being made, certain models seem to do better than others though. I'm in the non OC TUF que and I've moved 64 places in 3 months, so an average drop of about 5 places per week... It sucks but I'm 63rd I don't think I'm getting one sooner by cancelling...

It does deoend on total draw of course. I will only use M2 drives and no Sata devices Two RAM sticks, and only 3 case fans. I won't do further overclocking, and will be using a 5900x which doesn't have huge power draw. I use a Dark power pro 4 air cooler (as moving physical/liquid around takes more power I expect)

The ideal efficiency is to run a psu between 65% and 85% (approx) of its full capacity, I read. Running a huge PSU at less than that is also less efficient (ie costs more on 'leccy)
Anyway, time will tell. I will run my 750W supply in parallel if I need to.

so ive come across a dilemma, i ordered a 3080 master, a lian li o11 and a 100w revolt pro, but... the psu and case are out of stock, the psu comes in stock on the 24th roughly but the case is completely out of stock. would they have aready put them aside or will i be waiting until they come in stock (when ever that is)
thanks in advance :)

Cool, as long as you're aware. If you do run into any trouble there's been some suggestions that undervolting can get the same if not marginally better performance with obviously less power draw, so that could help if need be.

Any word of what happened to those 20x 3080 TUF OCs that were due in last week? Did they ever show up? Been waiting for the dispatch email since last week.

Going off what people were saying about que numbers, they hadn't arrived on Friday, so I assume it'll be next week. But the way things are, who knows?

OCUK do not hold stock for partial orders, either it is all in stock and it ships or the order waits until it is all in stock.

Best to ask them to drop out of stock items off your order and order them separately so they ship when they arrive.

Are you sure? I was told via a webnote that they allocate stock to an order even if other items in the order are out of stock so that stock won’t be allocated to someone else’s order. They can also split the order so they’ll post out the items in stock and move the other items onto a new order automatically.

Historically they have always been willing to split and order so they can ship in-stock items, but they have never held stock while waiting for out of stock items.

If that has changed it would obviously be good news from a customer perspective, but I'd want to get that one in writing for sure :)
