Anyone planning to buy the RX 6900 XT, rather than RTX 3080?

Common man, don't do AMD like that. AMD owners just don't like running benchmarks :D

I think ive run about 2 benches ever on my radeon 7. I fit that person! I also do plan on getting a 6900xt and I probably wont run a benchmark on that either :)

timespy

7,000 benches on 6800xt
250,000 benches on 3080

WoW:o

877 benches on 6900xt
111,000 benches on 3090

only 877, 6900xt ran timespy on the whole planet. 2 of them are with Azor. :o:o

Of course these scores are very skewed because AMD cards never get benched, they are mostly used for gaming only. :D:confused::cool:

How many of them are repeat benches trying to beat the 6800xt to save there Epeen. I would hazard a guess its a very high number.

probably the other way around.

UK situation.

For the 6900xt only 9 result, 5 are from same guy trying to improve his score.
4 6900xt got tested in Uk with scores being submitted.

AMD smashed that launch.
the ink on the paper that this was launch on, hasnt even dried yet.
========

6800xt situation for Uk is not much better

350 benchmarks submitted in total. with Ltmatt who works for AMD in the lead. Nice score Matt :)

4 people in the UK have a 6900xt

that's a pretty good launch for AMD well done

6900xt Cards from amd direct come wrapped with a mousepad.

Really like the look of that mouse pad.

Low number mean the results could become skewed. 7000 benches means that overclocking the card and running a few hundred benchmarks would be enough to change the average by a small amount. The 6900xt you could full out chanfge the average result if a few hundred overclocked results were added. The RTX 3080 should stay stable for the most part with 250000 results. Still 7000 6800xt result is enough to get some sort of idea how good the card. 877 benchmarks for the 6900xt is a little low.

Covid-19 I guess is still hitting production, AMD are no different from Nvidia. Nvidia look to have ramped up production. Hopefully AMD can too over the comming months.

This is why i told you that the 6800xt average score is growing every day and why i told you that we will see better scores on the 6900xt.
At over 200k tests, you won't see too much change, that's why the score only increased with 9 points from 22nd November
At ~8000k tests, you will see some change, today the score increased with 9 more points. Of course there is a limit where the score will be stabilized, we won't see such numbers each day as more tests will come.

I can honestly say that if I got a 6000 series, I would not run timespy. When I get one I won't run it either.
I'd just go with some Superposition to make sure thermal paste was not forgotten about, no online submission.

6800xt overclocks well enough, the money to a 6900xt is not worth it. Hell a RTX 3090 is too much money over the RTX 3080 for the performance.

The main issue with the 6800xt is the lack of a DLSS feature, like super-resolution. RT is not on power with nvidia but is decent. The main issue is the lack of a DLSS feature for RT heavy games.

Linus Tech Tips
NVIDIA might ACTUALLY be EVIL... - WAN Show December 11, 2020

They talk about rasterization being more important as a comment from HU. We all know the future is DX12u which is RT and a DLSS like feature.

Like hardware Unboxed stated, The 6900xt is a terrible value product you should never buy.

Note here the 6900xt matches the RTX 3080 at 1440p ultra quality and is slower at 4k. This with Cyberpunk 2077 supporting AMD fidilityFX. Turn graphics fidelity to medium and AMD are on top. Its the fast raster AMD cards the reviews show them to be. When you reduce the settings so faster clock speed matters more and less cores shine. The 6900xt cant run RT with good performance in Cyberpunk 2077 because it lacks a DLSS feature. This will continue untill AMD release super-resolution with the help of MicroSoft.
Im not surprised that Nvidia did what they did to HU their 6800xt review was a joke he said that the 6800xt was in many ways a better product than RTX 3080 that was complete rubbish the RTX 3080 is faster at 4k has good raytracing and DLSS how is it a better product a lot of reviewers i have noticed seem to overegg AMD because they know the rabid fanboyism the brand attracts and want to get the cult like AMD fanboys onside.

Cult like? Might want to look at the posts of the token nvidia shills in here and get some perspective.

Indeed. Nvidia are the biggest cult we have on these forums, perhaps second only to Intel. Definitely a pot calling kettle black situation!

I suspect AMDs drivers will do there usual wonders for performance within the next couple of months - which incidentally could be the amount of time you have to wait for one anyway :p
2% or 3% here and there, modded bios and under water with a nice fat Zen3 chip and i think the 3900 could be the big daddy and leave Nvidia with a bit of a problem when the ti eventually gets squeezed out - its unlikely to top the table.

Of course stupid money and just like the 3090 its not really great but 3ghz............. i dont care what anyone says if i had a gpu doing that its god tier mode. :D:D

Vulkun Ray Tracing has been released, its agnostic extensions runs on AMD too and Quake 2 has been patched for the latest version of Vulkun

It's AMD's first gen of Ray Tracing. I'm not surprised.
