Intel demoes 11th Gen Core Rocket Lake CPU against 12-core AMD Ryzen

If the benchmarks were being conducted by Intel, there's a 101% chance (with a 1% margin of error) that they're complete bull****. The fact that they're testing in Metro Exodus is itself extremely suspicious, given it's not a CPU-heavy title whatsoever.

Where are the details on the exact hardware and software configurations used?

Doesn't that game prefer Intel anyway? As a 10900k currently beats the AMD 5000's in that game currently looking at some benchmarks.

A bit of a non story

Oh no! I'm gonna get 2% less fps at 720p!?? End of the world

notice how intel avoided all e sports titles cause AMD is 40% ahead LOl

what do you mean whats the point ? good they will get the gaming crown back benefits consumers them 2 going at it.. we dont know the pricing and it might get AMD to drop the price ? for someone like me who just games and looking for 8 cores and the 5800x isnt priced well IMO hope the i7 rocket lake isnt far behind and priced well

What about csgo, valorant, fortnite, black ops, warzone etc. You know, where the 5900x is up to 40% faster than the 10900k

To sell more motherboards to power that nuclear reactor. Gigabyte shipping Z590 with 21 Phase 100 AMP power stages, gotta prepare for the 400w CPU's ya know

In any case, we have no idea what configuration Intel used. They havent published system configuration - for all we know they may have used slow ram...

maybe will be shown at the presentation ? still depends on the pricing

If that's the best they can achieve, with 50% less cores and probably twice the power usage is it that impressive? Not to mention they didn't bench against the 5950X?

Ohh for gods sake sub 5% in most tested games, wow well done intel all that extra while lopping off some cores because you will set stuff on fire without them being removed.
Practically a tie, and with less cores and enormous power usage.

Yep Intel is back, back to being crap again.

Intel better be ready as AMD lately has been on point, 21-22 will be a big year for them in server, mobile and desktop (in that order).

It's been interesting to see recently Intel's new thing compared to AMDs that's been out for a while, used to be the other way around.

If we take Intel's performance at face value it doesn't look great.

I pulled up the 5900x review from TPU, it says the 10900k is 6% faster than 5900x at 1080p in Metro Exodus. Today intel said the 11900k beats the 5900x by 5% in Metro Exodus. So that means the 11900k is 1% slower in games than the 10900k, what's the point of even making this product when it's slower than the old product?
