*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

I just put on a short sleeved white t shirt, like a vest really, and a couple of old long sleeved tops, reasonably thin. Went out for a walk and you know what? They're fine, I was warm. I don't think I'll need to bother with a compression top. Not for now anyway, I'll see how it goes. I'm just going to buy a nice looking zip up or pullover blue or black hoodie as my outer garment.

as I have gloves for my hands. That's the part of me that doesn't seem to warm up

Same for me, it's more about hands and maybe ears. Everything else is far too hot when jogging.

I haven't been jogging yet.

Just head out and try some things. I feel like we've been talking about this for months and you've not even been out and had a run yet!?!?! :P (Even if it's just 10 or 15 minutes, it will give you a good idea of if you have the right gear or not :) )

I know, I'm terrible. :o It's just that I want the rest of my gear first. But yeah, I'll start tomorrow. :)

I'm itching for a run, but it's all iced-up slush here and lethal so I'm sitting tight. This is not the season to need A&E for a sprained ankle!

I’ve only managed to go jogging three times this year so far. I’m another who won’t risk it in this weather. Roll on Spring! No running means anything I eat like chocolate goes straight to my belly, hence only a drop of 0.1lkg this week. Better than gaining though, eh?

I've managed to be consistent but certainly taking it easy, depending how the weather is, it's a mixture of freezing temps and ice or wet mudfest.

I went for a 20 minute jog in the park and it was fine. I wore a black zip up hoodie I just bought from Tesco which is warm enough. I've now ordered a Garmin Vivoactive 3, new other for £139.95, (wanted the 735XT but a bit expensive even for a refurbished) wireless buds, a running belt although a cheaper one than yours Andy, but if it's rubbish I'll return it and get the same as yours, and a second navy blue non zip pull over hoodie because I like options. Will have everything between thursday and saturday and then can do proper jogging and monitor it. :)

Gone back to 18/6, and attempting to cut right back on bread and sugar (my downfall)
18/6 has worked well for me in the past, as it helps my discipline not to snack all the time. I'm stuck in the house shielding so exercise wise I'm sticking to a treadmill and have just got some exercise bands to try and keep some strength whilst I'm off work. No idea if they are a bit of a gimmick or not but hopefully better than nothing.

My DPD driver is round the corner with Huel so I'm quite eager to try out the Black U&U which is now totally more keto friendly. So I'm going to try keto from 1st Feb with 2x Fast 800 days per week (which is where the Huel will come in). If I can keep that regime up for a couple of months, I should be at target weight by Easter. Eeeeeek. Just in time to put it all back on with a plethora of easter eggs. :D

I almost wish I could do this, but I am hungry within 2 or 3 hours of eating, there's just no way I could last 18 hours. How many calories do you eat in the 6 hours?
I'm not calorie counting as such for now, a light lunch and then a main meal around 5.30, will be under 2000 cals easily if I keep away from snacks. Not very scientific at all but it seems to work for me. I'm not trying to build muscle, just lose flab that I've built up through being mainly sedentary this year. I'm hungry now and that's a good thing.
If I want to get really keen I'll go OMAD, that really works!

Listening to a podcast with Ethan Suplee who's lost 300 American pounds. Good for him however two things really stuck out, he lives on boiled chicken ewww and he's lost acting roles :( which seems a bit unfair.

Podcast was very good though with the host trying get him to broaden what he eats
Yeah I've got an actor friend who lost a lot of roles when he slimmed down. Typecasting I suppose. I certainly couldn't live on boiled chicken, but I suppose it's breaking the chain of food being pleasurable and just something that keeps you alive.

It can be both. It's about eating smart and making the calories count. Good food, lovingly made in controlled portions is always more pleasurable than trash food overloaded with sat. trans fats and salt, in portion sizes that make you over eat to avoid waste etc. It's one of the reasons I'm buying good kitchen knives, to help make the cooking process easier and less of a chore. I really like seeing what I can do with decent veg and controlled carbs, for example.

My mother in law comes and does our cleaning each week. For the last 3 weeks she's been bringing loads of cake.

This isn't helping!

Do any of you have a problem with your jogging bottoms slipping down? I keep tightening the string on mine but after a few minutes they've slipped. I might need to buy braces.

I find it depends on the brand for me. For shorts anyway. Some of mine fit perfectly and others fall down and just never seem to tighten, especially with something in the pockets.

So many problems! Bought 2 of the same item and they both have a different cut. Tight enough to stay up when walking? Digs into you when sitting. Comfy when sitting? Fall down as soon as you stand up!

As for weight loss? I've regressed over the past year with a bad mental health break so binned any kind of 'diet' until I can get my head straight. No energy/will to go lift weights either so lost strength too. I'll get there soon hopefully.
