30xx Series Founders Edition

This year supply and demand will remain the same. No one cares about brand loyalty anymore and would get anything they can get their hands on.

Crypto will be at ATH this year, good luck out there and some of you might even consider paying bots to get a GPU. If you don't know, now you know.

I suspect it won't be the whole year, but no way to know.

That seems like gamble, as there's a good chance nvidia took the FE's down recently to install new bot protection. I guess we won't know until the next drop.

Bots or not, the same proportion of cards are likely to end up on eBay regardless because there is just a sheer lack of supply.

The only way that is resolved now is if supply outpaces demand which isn’t going to happen for a long time. You can’t just turn on a new fab, it just doesn’t work like that.

interestingly, nv actually sold double the amount of 3000 series as 2000 series when they launched, for the same duration. so they had 'normal' stock, but demand is just off the charts this time. partly due to the perf uplift and better price, and of course everyone spending more time at home.

So far have ran Heaven benchmark, Superposition, Quake RTX and Cyberpunk. Funnily enough scores have been higher than stock at these settings. 3c cooler and fan only set at 60

I think people are going to be stuck for a long time unfortunately. This virus had brought the world to its knees :(

Exactly. Plus shops and people which scalp, put these up at ridiculous prices which miners pay because it's pennies for them.

Also TSMC have been asked to prioritise supply for auto chips. 2021 will be a long year if you're PC building.

All of the above goes out the window if you are willing to pay £650-700 for a 3070 and £850-900 for a 3080.lol

Looks like this will be msrp for these cards pretty soon.

I have a feeling even the 3090 fe will be sold out fast on the next drop. Even the aib cards I have seen go in stock today at 2 grand have been purchased almost instantly

Yup, I was careful not to mention sales as the number it’s self isn’t really that relevant. The ratio between supply and demand is and currently the differential is massive.

I could sell the PC I built up last year for far more than I paid for it which is crazy. The only part that isn’t out of stock is the ram and motherboard. Even the case and power supply is in huge demand and no stock anywhere.

With vaccines being rolled out I reckon lockdowns wil be gone in a few months. If countries do the right thing and immunise the elderly/at risk people first then death rates wil go down and things will start to get back to normal. The current rise is mainly to do with mining rather than just people playing games.

I'm especially baffled by the premium for the 'OC' cards. I don't think they're a lot faster right? I mean FE's get around 1850-2000 depending. Don't think it's worth the extra personally.

sure, but a lot of people think there was almost no stock, ie. paper launch. not true, just not enough for the unprecedented demand.

I don't think the 3080 is a good overclocker. I picked up the FE at msrp and couldn't be happier with it. I guess there will be gains to be had, but seems most people look to undervolt if anything

Here's to hoping mate. I work in the healthcare sector and have had some of my staff in for their first vaccine over the last couple of weeks.
