£2.69999K for a 3090? WTF

Looking interesting at that price. The pc looks to be built right in there with 4k screen .... lol

£1399 a RTX 3090FE simple as, I decided to buy one and simply I followed the NVidia shop for a week every day at 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500 then last Thursday it all kicked off at 1505ish I noticed at 1507ish and panicked and got frustrated when the bank pulled all sorts of security checks on me but didn't need to worry as it took circa 6 hours to sell out!

Can I add I took two Titans out of the rig yesterday and whilst the 3090 is an improvement (marginally) on the Titans in non Ray Tracing Benchmarks its the same in World of Warships 79FPS, Big step up in world of Tanks (280FPS) it totally spanks the Titans arse in mining! we are at £9.77 compared to £4.51 for the pair of Titans and I have to say the 6950X is loving having the two Magicool 360mm rads to itself currently sat not doing much at 17c whilst the 3090 mines at 59c (air-cooled).

Ouch.... I paid £1700 for mine this morning. Got more money than sense FFS!

Problem doesn't really exist if people keep buying the 3090 (check steam market share stats)

The 3090 doesn't have to win every situation, just as Ryzen 5900x/5950x doesn't need to beat the 10900k in every situation - just the important ones and on average to claim the title and thee who holds the titles garners the marketing power from it which flows down the stack to other model sales too.

Nvidia does have SAM coming as well which will grant it a few extra single digit percentage gains - its not like they need it, but no reason not to bump up the whole stack a few percent
the steam stats are way off the real numbers. rtx 3000 only at 1% yea right gimme a break. don't use the steam numbers for anything other than to laugh at. 3000 series like selling more than 1000 and 2000 series combined, how does steam represent that? it doesnt.

Not sure the hardcore miners use Steam...

its a card for hardcore overclockers, the one that always want to be on the 3d mark top ten list, the braggers and the 5 min you tube review vid uploaders

its not for normal gamers, hence the price of 2700 quid and only 50 made.

Wondering what people would pay for a 3090 at the moment. What’s the max you would pay?

I would not pay anything. I am pretty sure the better bet will be the 3080ti and I am waiting for the market to get sensible, which is not going to happen for at least another four or five months.

I would say £1500 but thats because i already own one, if i did not then id say £1800 and thats only because my disposable income has accumulated over the past year with no holidays abroad and all the bars and restaurants being closed. i actually wanted the 3080 but you know the story behind that. for me, with these long dark winter nights and lockdown i have found the 3090 to be worth the money i paid for it.
