I'll be keeping a close on VR for consoles though and may bite if something comes out but in terms of PC gaming for now I am done, completely had enough of the costs, scalpers and miners its become a joke, literally in the sense that PC gamers who want to use components for their intended purposes are priced out or paying over the odds if they are lucky enough to get hold of parts and the people that are causing it think its funny.

Hi. Ive just played HalfLife Alyx from start to finish sat down on a Rift S. Its still an incredible experience, so no moving around to disturb the kids. Likewise my flight sims and a fair few other games.

I'm still on a 1070, frustrating as hell as I want to upgrade to get the most out of the headset to do it justice.

That said my set up is in the dining area of the lounge and sustained play on VR really does cut you off from the family so for me its in limited chunks.

VR is the only thing holding me onto my PC setup.

If price and availability was right I would jump in because it does sound really good but I'm not willing to play the pc components game anymore, sold my GPU, CPU and ram today and will be selling the rest of it very soon

Are you happy with the Rift S, how did you find the resolution of it?
 
Vega 64's going for over £500 on the bay. So glad i got mu new card and got a decent price for my Vega 64(though not £500). I can just sit back and smile at this stupidity now!!
 
I kind of wish I'd sold my 5700XT on Ebay.
A friend of mine sold his for £585.
I sold mine on the Forums for £350.

Cost me £600 for my RX6800.

I have a 6900 XT for sale in the MM, will give it 24 hours and then its going on EBay. Am curious to see what the auction will go for.

If replacements were easy to source, 1080's wouldn't be selling for £600, so the argument is rather redundant.

..at this rate my 2080 is going to be worth more than what I bought it for in January 2019 (£650).

I hate the entire PC gaming scene right now, people are being such a bunch of scumbags all round.
 
i got money togetter and finaly decided to build a 5600x b550 and 3070 combo pc. and i think this is not gona happen. crazy prices on social meadia, but im not sure they moving that stock at them prices. lots of adds staying for weeks.
 
Looking to get a build together for my stepsons birthday. 1080p 60fps.

I know GPU prices are gone stupid but what card should I look for ? It be for csgo and call of duty. I dont expect ultra settings.

The 3060 releasing on the 25th Feb or 6700/6700XT due to be launched by end of March/April.

Don't hate the scene, this isn't a permanent situation. Choose to not be part of what's going on and simply forget about it. It's not worth the time or stress, especially considering it's out of our control.

Do what I plan to do: come back in 6-12 months and see how things are. In that time the prices will have settled to whatever they're going to settle at, and the PC gaming scene will have weathered the storm. Or not and consoles will be the best option.

Either way video games are not going away. And that's the point of all this: the games, not the hardware.
