Anyone else had a handwritten letter from the JW recently?

This came through a few days ago addressed to 'The householder'.

I assume that because they're not allowed to go bashing on doors, they're writing letters to people.

If any of them knock here, they just get a polite "No thanks" and I close the door but I wonder how many people have received similar letters recently.

Please don't turn this into a pro or anti religion thread, I'm just interested to know how widespread this practise is.

/edit - I've also not used the full name so that if they regularly search for mentions then they won't find this thread ;)

One of the thing they have to do is record the amount of time they spend spreading the word - each person in the church has a minimum amount they have to do each week if they want to be one of the 'chosen'.

I wonder if writing a letter (rather than typing and printing many copies) is just a better time sink to get the time stats up, given the usual activities are not allowed at the moment.

Is it actually hand written?

We get similar notes from "local cleaners in our area that are nearby doing other peoples houses" that look very convincingly hand written but they are not.

You can only admire the conviction of these people's beliefs though, can't you?

I did yesterday...the address on the envelope looked hand written, addressed to The Occupier
Think the letter was printed tho...can’t remember, stopped reading it after I realised who it was from

Yes I got one last week, it was a bit creepy and was definitely hand written.
Same as above, photographed, sent to family whatsapp group for bants and filed under 'B'.

Haven't seen a JoHo in years!

They seem pretty chill though and are only out trying to save people from eternal damnation, whatever makes you happy I guess :)

Wow, that is a huge amount of effort to go to. Nice hand writing

To be fair if I could knock a few doors and god would give me handwriting like this rather than my demonic scrawl i'd be tempted you know...

They've never really bothered me, I really don't see any point in being rude to them if they ever knock at the door.

Yeah exactly, anytime i've had experience with them a kind "No thanks that's not for me" does the job and everyone goes their own way happy :)

Haven't seen or heard from the Jay-Dubs in some time. Perhaps they've realised I'm well boyond salvation/redemption or whatever it called.

I have been inside a KH once, but that was on a professional basis. A former colleague was the son of a staunchly religious JW couple and even he took the mickey out of the whole thing.

But when they did knock, as above, a simple no thank you was all that was required.

Has anyone actually ever invited them in? Did they know what to do/say next? :D
