Your temp seems far too high. Were the fans at low rpm? Might need to check the block installation... Have you got one of the v3 or v4 mounting kits?

Using the 163 beta BIOS for the X570 tomahawk results in this crashing CB20 or just rebooting my PC due to unstable settings. It did complete when I stuck the 15 stable BIOS back on and gave me these results:

No idea if it's stable yet but did result in a decent 4925MHz single thread speed (636 CB20) and 4550MHz all core at much lower temps - 66C in a CB run vs 82C on stock settings for a similar 6K score.

I've mounted it and re mounted it about 4 times now. I have a v4 kit I belive from the 240mm I bought for my other system that I used in the amd system. My 5800x and my old 8700k ran warm with this aio also.. so maybe its faulty?

Start a new thread in the water cooling forum to ask for opinion and advice. Quotations about case airflow, rad position, rad orientation and air in or exhaust all spring to mind.

The new 2.1 version let my dud of a 5800x squeak out 25mhz on the best 2 cores to reach 4875mhz using the PX high profile. Might tweak the profiles but I think it does a good job keeping performance up while lowering power consumption and heat.

Since I have the chance to replace for another try, I would appreciate your opinions. (This is also the reason for doing so many runs)
Should I replace, or are the chances of getting a worse sample higher, than getting a better sample? Since Golden Samples seem to pop up more often nowadays, it seems as AMD has improved it's manufacturing process. Maybe mine is just the standard sample now... sadly I have no sample data or insight.
There is just this picture from this Thread, which makes me think of replaceing.

Have you run CB on its own first, accepting the terms of use? Alternatively, it's broken (5.0 behaved like this for me, but 5.1 works).

Thanks Stu, I did run it and it seemed to complete properly. But on pressing the diagnostic button in CTR though it launches Cinebence and starts the run (the first small patch starts to get completed) it then crashes.

The CTR log shows:
Phoenix ready!
Cinebench R20 started
19:51:53: Cinebench stopped!
PPT limit reached! 213.4W

I had setup PBO and CO already - I thought CTR would work fine with that but do I need to go back to stock CPU settings in order to run the diagnostic?

yes, it very very clearly states you have to run it from auto and default settings, else you're setting the tool to try to process and OC your already clocked processor, so it sees no headroom and shuts it down so not to damage.

OK, thank you for clarifying - I misunderstood and thought that I had to reset to default for the 'tune' function. I did not realise even the diagnostic function requires this.
