so, your platinum sample 5900x runs smaller clocks than my bronze sample 3900, yeh.... sure... good reliable test :D

nah the test is broken, it's only showing platinum because the energy efficiency is showing as "infinite", meaning the test think his CPU is using 0 watt, as in literately free performance

Any ideas on how I can get the diagnostic to run correctly?

not totally sure, its buggy software - may delete it, redownload and run it

OK, I'll give that a try. So far the only change I've made in BIOS is activating XMP profile for memory (everything else is auto). I've installed CTR, installed the CH files, run CB directly once from that folder to "activate" it... have I missed something?

there a few things that need set in bios before running it.

"
  • PBO/PBO2 - Auto mode only.
  • AGESA 1.2.0.0 and newer only for Zen 3 and APU Renoir processors. For Zen 2, it does not matter.
  • Core voltage / CPU voltage - Auto only. Offset is also not allowed.
  • CPU multiplier - Auto only.
  • Performance Enhancer - Disabled only.
  • CPU Virtualization - not important.
  • CPPC - Enabled.
  • CPPC Preferred Cores - Enabled.
  • Global C-State - Enabled.
  • Power Profile - irrelevant.

I'll double check, but pretty certain all my setting match what you say. Computer offline due to decorating, but I'll report back.

That's with an Antec Khuler 920 - thought I'd run a test before the rebuild to a full waterloop - though it would be a nice bench... then realised if the full custom loop performs worse it will be a little disappointing... :)

I can’t get the diagnostic to run all the way through either. Completes the CB run then the log only updates once I force quit and restart.

Have tried it multiple times with different settings but it never goes any further than CB.

Might sound silly, but have you just left it? After the CB section it returns to the dashboard and then runs through the stress testing at lowering voltages - if it is working, after a short while you will see the text on the right hand side going through stress test 1, stress test 2, and then rince and repeat at a lower voltage. Takes about 20-30 mins to finish

Also... New loop installed, full custom and a new gfx card (2080ti) Delightfully it has slightly improved my chip :)

I'm pretty chuffed with the temp drop as that was on an Antec Khuler 920 which is pretty good!

I have done but it doesn’t progress no matter how long I leave it. The progress bar is visible but the log doesn’t update. Seems to be erroring with “an unhandled exception as occurred”.

Hi guys, i've been reading the forum for quite some time, lurking but never had to participate in the conversation, until now that is. The thing is, i am in the proccess of buying a 5600x and Asus B550-F Gaming mbo. So, reading through this thread i had an idea that could potentially help future cpu buyers. How about we include serial and batch numbers along with CTR diag. results and cooling? That way we could better identify the quality of our cpu's instead of relying only on CTR... If this is a wrong thread for this or simply a stupid idea, mod pls delete. Thx!
