Car terminology that makes you cringe

And a new 1 series it's about 32k+ if you add options and it'll still be mundane. I'd rather go and buy a Yaris GR instead. Or save some cash and buy a Focus ST (or used RS). Because well...they are better cars.

Are they "better cars"? They might be less "mundane" but that's a different thing. Besides, the less mundane versions of the 1 series (128ti and M135i) seem to be well regarded.

A Yaris is a class smaller than a 1 series and the Focus has noticeably worse interior material, build quality and infotainment. So to me, they don't seem better.

I don't really care about that stuff, I prefer to watch where I'm going :D

This. This all day long

One for me is not so much specific terminology but people who can't tell the difference between "immaculate" and "fair condition" when selling their cars.
Oh god like the chap on here that wound us all up when he said he had a scratch that was a literal crease in his bonnet with paint flaking off.

Yep, some the "high end" stuff is still ok (if fugly) like the proper M cars and AMGs. But the rep mobiles and run of the mill stuff is sold on the badge alone.

I can't think of any reason why I'd buy a 1 series over one of the other hatches. RWD was a plus, but even that has gone now.
Have you ever driven a M car out of interest. No doubt I will get some stupid answer but I would be interested in what you have experience to have such a hate of German cars.

because if you aren't old enough/enough of a car nerd to know it instinctively then you have to look it up, an utterly pointless exercise given how the human race has a perfectly good and well accepted method of establishing how old something is.

Well we went with a stupid lettering system in this country. Other countries went with years on their number plates.

Most other countries went without the strange need to have the age of the car as part of the registration number. I can only think of Ireland that also did it.
