Is the 60cm depth eating in to the 2.85m, or the 4.85?
I don't think everyone (well, I'm not at least) are saying 'only buy IKEA', I just don't appreciate being called a pleb.
Fair enough, it just seems this has gone the way of many threads like this. I'm expecting psycho to come on soon and just tell him to sack it off and scrounge a load of pallets instead.

I've also add this is a mockup done using DIY Kitchens. These use solid wood doors in a bespoke colour so choose whatever colour you want from their "Linwood" range. Not MDF.
The total length is 2620mm, i'm sure the fitter could use a plinth on the left side to bring it out an extra 7cm from the left wall if you wanted. The material cost comes to £660 and the units are delivered fully assembled. I would estimate to fit those units together and add the worktop would be about a days workat £200/day for a reasonable joiner and you're at around £900 fitted. Maybe add a little more to get nicer handles/your soft close hinges.
I still don't how anything is worth spending over a grand, even if you included 2 days labour.
I added a solid wooden worktop because you didn't reply earlier when i asked what the top was you were getting. If you're just having MDF/Laminate then i imagine you could knock off another £100 from that price.

DIY kitchens are highly regarded for the quality of their cabinets and you'll find a lot of people rave about them on here.
I'll add again, in some instances i understand people wanting proper fitted units, if you have alcoves/odd shaped ceilings etc where there's a benefit in that custom nature. However what you seem to be getting is very much off the shelf units like the above installed into your front room. You seem to be paying a premium for a service you don't require.

There is no 'worktop', just the frame, its only going to have a TV sat on top of it, maybe some plants. I already picked the colour and range I want and its signed for now.
These things cost £3000+ with a few full height units thrown in. Simply removing the full height units that wouldn't fit bought it down to £1800 which is completely fine comparatively!
Again fully bespoke cut exactly to fit companies are Strachan and up, they charge £10,000+ for the same design Hammonds gave me for £2,800!!!
Hammonds and Sharps use pre sized doors which is why they cost less, and MDF / Particleboard / Laminate.
You dont get anything in real wood until going from £3000 to £10,000, and £12,000 for solid oak!!!
I've already compared all the prices and materials, real wood is into 5 figures for this!!!
The salesman really did a number on you didn't he. Nice work. Please post pics when it's fitted.
I asked to take the worktop off actually
just the frame, no worktop,
just the painted frame.
no worktop.
Literally the entire first page was 'lol buy Ikea'.
Literally everytime I post about fitted furniture, 90% of the replies are 'buy Ikea, why are you getting kitchen units'.
Then I'm expected to remain civil in my replies. I don't see why I should be held to a higher standard than almost everyone else on this forum.

You say just the frame? Hopefully you don't meant literally a frame and more frame with wood fitted to it![]()
Very good but you wasted your time as he wants French Grey, not Light Grey. don't you know that that French Grey is actually green and not grey? Unacceptable. Next!
Nonsense. A time served joiner with any sort of furniture making skills will be able to make whatever’s asked of them.Local joiner stuff would never look that nice
He paid 6k for what sounds like a crap sight more than you’re getting for 1800 quid. You’re getting proper shaftedSorry but heres an actual picture of what I'm getting actually looks like (#22)
Yea, of course his employer of decades is allowing him to be taking custom from them. The designer I had has been working for them for decades while also having his own home design website and services on the side
The price isn't bad at all. The minimum you will be paying is circa £1.5k to £2k for bespoke and for a very basic spec/range.

There's nothing bespoke about it though?
Think of it as a project log then?
People post their PC builds, I'm posting my furniture.
