*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

So just seen you post 1x Gigabyte Eagle OC incoming, I'm guessing that there isn't any RMAs otherwise you probably wouldn't make that public and give false hope, especially to me because I'm number 1 in the queue. Can you confirm no RMAs so I can really get excited?

I can’t see RMAs I’m afraid as such I can’t answer your question sorry.

things looking bleak on the Asus 3080 front, but if mark cavendish can win a race in the tour de France and England beat Germany anything can happen, even a pallet of Asus getting delivered to overclockers could happen.
I'm a bit out of the loop on current trends, why are things looking bleak for Asus? I'm POS 16 for the TUF which seems like its still moving a teenie bit compared to the strix

What's the latest on the 3080 TUF OC?

Looking for one to replace my Founders Edition.
Still a backlog of pre-orders, tuf oc is a great card, got mine after nine months in q and am very happy with it, cool and powerful, they are still turning up in small quantities, for how long I'm not sure as the lhr models must be being shipped soon, last I knew there were a few hundred back orders,

Also worth mentioning, you'll probably work out cheaper buying a waterblock, hoses/pipes, pump, radiator and fans cheaper than you could get a TUF OC minus the cost of your FE card right now

*Already has a 3080*
Wants to change it to another one…
I get that.... I know it sux to read for those still without card. But for those of us that care about noise its very frustrating not being able to get the card you want, just whats around.
Id never have picked up an FE in ordinary times... Id like to change to an AIB (Suprim X ideally!) but I totally get why people who are without card still would get fresh at that.
Still, looks like things are improving slowly. So hopefully everybody that wants a card can get one soon-ish... and those that want to change can too...

Ya I suppose just seems like a bad thing to be posting when one quick look at the queue updates thread will tell you how bad the queue are for gpus that are being asked for

Waterblock that 3090FE and it'll still be cheaper than a Suprim X 3090 with better thermals and quieter too. ( don't forget the matching waterblock backplate to sort out the rear VRAM heat issues that all 3090 cards have)

I got the fan noise under control. The issue now is coil-whine...
I could probably RMA for it, but thats just a crap shoot from what I can tell. It seems the majority of FE cards whine to some degree. (The 2 I had do..)

The coil whine may sort itself out as the offending components(s) age. My old 1080Ti ( that died might I add) was terrible when I got it and ended up frame limiting games to reduce the noise, but over time it faded and I could ramp up the framerates again

I was hoping for that! Its 3 months old now, and no change yet sadly :(

Back when I had the issue folks suggested running GPU stress tests over and over until the coil whine dissappeared. You could try that and see if it works. With the weather we're having in the UK right now you might need to have all the windows in your house open and run an air conditioner to stop your house ending up like a furnace !

Haha yea it gets warm in here gaming.
I did a boat load of stress testing and benchmarking when I first got the card. I spend a few hours gaming on it most days, so its had its fair share of heavy workload in those 3 months.

Right now I think I am going to try get the PC further away from me. Ideal would be to locate it in the under-stairs cupboard. (With a fan in the door or something) But the house is rented so cant be putting huge holes in to route the cables sadly.

Gaming generally never runs your GPU at 100% load though, unlike the stress tests which are designed to push the limits. It may be worth a shot before rearranging the house to fit around your PC !

I use an nVidia Shield connected via powerline on my livingroom TV to mirror my PC with a wireless dongle for keyboard and mouse in the Shields USB socket and it works a treat, it certainly helped a lot when I was flat on my back for weeks after surgery !

What wonderful customer service OCUK has! I was offered an upgrade for my order from the EVGA Black 3080 to the XC3 Ultra Gaming! All I had to do was send them an extra £670 while at time of ordering it was only £100 more... Shame I didn't go somewhere else that shipped more than 5 of them!
