*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

'Missing features', who's to say it not deliberate? Did you happen to receive the 'the game will have X/y/z memo" when launched that no one else got? :D

You don't like it, we get it and of course you're allowed your opinion and to give feedback.

It's literally a new game, BF:2042.
Not, BF:2042(with stuff from BC2 and BF4 as we know you liked those)

Battlefield games have always had things that carry from one game to the next, if they didn't then they may as well not even have used the name battlefield. Even hardline stayed true to the formula for the most part and that was a spin off.

Having battlefield without a class system is basically not battlefield, as that's the core of the game. Right now the game could have any other shooters name slapped onto it and I doubt anyone would bat an eyelid. I see this game failing hard as forums are chock full of people saying basically the same thing, that being "wtf is this ****".

General feeling among the hardcore BF community is that BF 2042 is the rebirth of the aborted Battlefield Battle Royale game, with Conquest gameplay tacked on

Wouldn't surprise me, they put a lot of work into that and it was dead inside a few months, probably took the bones of that and farted out 2042 in record time.

well..cancelled my pre-order. Had the Ultimate edition, so will probably buy the standard one and see how it goes before I shell out any more money.

Possibly might even be a better idea to get the EA pro membership for 1 month ( I think thats like £15 or something?) , that should give you 10 hours free I believe. Long enough to then decide if you want to buy without having to fork out initially

good point. might do that infact, will see, with AOE4 etc..plus my Steam library, I have a lot of games to catch up with lol :D

They destroyed this so called "Battlefield" because they'd rather sell neon purple specialist skins than have classes which are ESSENTIAL to the game.

Which as per my post earlier in this thread is really the fault of us the gamers (not you and I, but gamers generally speaking) for buying stuff like that over and over in game after game, rather than the devs selling it. If there was no demand, there'd be no supply.

Lol, crikey tell me about it, my biggest trouble with gaming isnt cost but time ! Theres Back4Blood tomorrow, then Riftbreaker on the 14th, then Satisfactory Update 5 on the 26th, then AoE4 on the 28th and I've still got Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Deathloop, Long Dark and Diablo 2 Resurrected on the go as well. Just isnt enough hours in the day :D

If we're being entirely honest it does have a class system of sorts but yes its a quite different class system than the Battlefield titles have had normally.

It has a group of clones that can have access to random weapons to make them more annoying to fight. That's about it. It also has vehicle combat that makes bf1942 look ahead of its time.

Well whichever way you want to paint it, its still a class system of sorts, for example , if I want to use a drone I have to pick a specific Specialist (class) , if I want to use the Sentry Turret, I have to pick a specific Specialist (class) , if I want to use the healing dart pistol I have to pick a specific Specialist (class) and if I want to use the grappling hook I have to pick a specific Specialist (class) , so yes there are still classes which have items that only that class can have....but like I say yes, it is different to the other BF games, notably in regard of the secondary items you can carry.

I’ll wait to see what the full release is like, it didn’t run great on my 4770k and GTX970.. perhaps the full game will be better optimised, also the map was huge, prefer bc2 size maps

The only thing that seperates them is the gadgets, a "sniper" can have an assault rifle and an rpg for instance. They're basically all the same except for the skin and the gadget they have like the sniper emp drone or boris and his useless turret. Again, depth of a puddle, there used to be pros and cons for classes like having an engineer and a short range smg but having the rocket to harass tanks so you had to play that class accordingly, now they can basically all be armed the same only looking different.

But, for the 3rd time, still a class system (hence there being a requirement to be a certain class in order to get a certain item), though, for the 3rd time, yes very different to previous BF games. I'm not sure really how anyone can deny that there is a class system of sorts there. I've granted you that its a different class system to past BFs but you seem to be unwilling to grant that its still a class system of sorts. Anyone would think that BF2042 has kidnapped your first born child or something :D

I just wish they weren't the same player model for each faction.

American Boris (Buzz) should have a different look than Russian Boris (actual Boris).

Yeah I would agree with that, would be good if there were different models. I mean yes we're going to get different cosmetic clothing so eventually people will look different (unless there is a dominant outfit like the black one in Warzone) but it would definitely be better if there was unique factional models to seperate US from Russia.
