Quite prophetic words from Nixon. You know Russia has it bad when the Taliban are calling for restraint!
Yep. A very specific question to try and differentiate Russian actions from our own.I didn't ask about interventions in other countries, I asked about annexations, It was a rhetorical question really.
That's were we disagree. the publicity is because it is in europe. It wouldn't even need to be russia doing the invading.Well that's the thing, any invasion by Russia would receive plenty of publicity in this day and age.
Fair point, though i think the people that actually care are a minority. So no, it doesn't happen simply because people are told about it, people are making a choice as they aren't being told to take people in.
When you say "we" you really aren't speaking for everyone there.
And I didn't talk about annexations, I spoke about puppet states.I didn't ask about interventions in other countries, I asked about annexations, It was a rhetorical question really.
Russians either have terrible aim or they're clearly targeting civilian locations.

Look at this thread people talking about how these heroes gave their lives to slow the russian advance. Except there is no reinforcement coming from the west, at best they bought their country a few more hours of freedom. We are scared (for good reason). It's not like any of us are going to hop on a plane to help them. So we cheer them on go an die at the hands of the Russian war machine while we sit on our ass and send Russia a strongly worded letter. Don't worry all you brave soldiers we will tell your story in the next CoD game.
******* disgusting
Waking up and turning on the news I see that the western leaders have gone into rhetoric overdrive telling us plebs how they stand with the Ukrainian people shoulder to shoulder whilst talking of applying meaningless sanctions, the Ukraine will be sacrificed because of the wests inaction in the past and now it is too late.
Well the index fell 33% from a larger number yesterday, now have rise 22% but that 22% rise is from a smaller number, so it's still huge fall overall.

Why cant Ukraine be immediately signed into NATO and then it would get the full support needed?
What is stopping this from happening? I ask as i really dont know.
Or any hit on a civilian building gets massive (western) media coverage.Russians either have terrible aim or they're clearly targeting civilian locations.
Armenia Azerbaijani war. Are you still outraged at one or both? You seem to be outraged about people being outraged at an unprovoked invasion of a European state. Very odd
Yes I do.So you really believe this wouldn't be 24/7 world news if Russia were invading a country with a similar population size that isn't on the European or American continents?
The russians are out protesting their governments actions. Are our people out protesting our governments lack of action? If its happening I haven't heard anything about it.The reinforcement from the west is a government and NATO level decision.
Nice strawman. You seem to be outraged about people being outraged at an unprovoked invasion of a European state. Very odd
True, on both accounts.Quite prophetic words from Nixon. You know Russia has it bad when the Taliban are calling for restraint!

You mentioned that this is a government decision as if the people can do nothing but accept it. My point is that we have ways of airing our grievances with government decisions. Though it is questionable if it works."The russians", you mean a few thousand protesting their governments choice to wage war on a country. What would you like the British people to be protesting for then? further sanctions? getting directly involved on the ground?
A few were yesterday but it seems to be the result of dirt/dust being disturbed etc.. rather than anything being breached.
