Again, ancient. That's a design from the 1980s that has been in operation since the early-mid 90s. I'm talking about the new kit. That was the whole topic of conversation. Maybe you should look harder?

Quick look at wiki...they don't really have any newer attack helicopters? All are based on 80's or earlier designs. The ones I've seen footage of that have been shot down were Kamov KA-52 apparently which first flew in the early 80's and were 'introduced' (updated versions?) in 2011. Which is about as modern as they have it seems.

FC Dynamo Kiev. Wonder if our prima donnas would do the same...

Maybe but even the confirmed losses are a huge blow and there are supposedly 2 IL-76 transport planes shot down by now, that a massive loss of life in one go for Russian troops.

Yes definitely, transports full of troops (presumably paratroopers i.e. elite) getting shot down is going to add to those numbers pretty damn quickly.

Indiscriminate full on artillery bombardment

Nope, full retard is Russia's escalated to de-escalate policy

Western analysts have developed a range of descriptions of Russian nuclear strategy that all fall, with varying degrees of consistency and contradiction, under the “escalate to de-escalate” umbrella. The new NPR and political scientist Matthew Kroenig hold that Russia intends to use nuclear weapons early in a conflict to attain an advantageous battlefield outcome.

Would be nice if the West got this one wrong and it's not a Russian policy especially with how unhinged Putin has become

It's a joke that the world appeased Russia for so long since 2014. Fifa WC 2018 will be the same as 1936 Olympics.

Germany should have been reducing links, not increasing them over the past 8 years.
