I’m not even sure we’d start WW3 if they attacked a small NATO country.

Do we want to end the world for Estonia…? The USA won’t.
 
I'm very interested in why Kazakhstan has so far been so resistant, I guess they can't risk sending forces they need for internal issues, but it's certainly an oddity.

Pretty sure it wasn't unless there's more than one Lebedyn, but if it is accurate then I think it's an attempt to slow Russia's backup goal of enclosing the East.

Putin might not, but the Russians.who have been holidaying around the world for the past 15-20 years will get pretty hacked off with local resorts for local people with the outcome being a dead Putin via inside job somehow.

But when he does go, who takes his place the west cannot get involved for sure and it needs to be someone with a level head. No moderates exist in Putin's circle i am guessing.

Me too, this thread, sky news / bbc news twitter and reddit

the TV is repeat and this thread is about the best discussion around. Its got me hooked, Im 36 and have never really payed much attention to war / world politics and the like, now I feel like I'm starting to understand it a lot more

If it's even possible the oligarchs will want to massively reset Russia's image to regain some semblance of reputation so I don't think it would be a worse person.

Well, no. the issue there would be the end of NATO though and there would be conventional retaliation by other NATO members as an existential reaction. That won't happen if he just flattens some places in Ukraine.

I was just wondering how Russia could possibly come back from this. It'll take a long time I think.
