And how does one export when every country is rejecting your ships and planes?

It's only the moron Germans who have emboldened this dependency on russian gas. I bet cuadrilla are buzzing if they haven't totally shut shop.

Not only that - payment would have to be made through non-banking means. They'd have to withdraw the money first then send it back to be deposited in a separate location unless it's through China.

Yes, the Russians have been diversifying and buying gold and metals to 1/3 to stop a complete failure. If all the companies fail in russia then Putin will have his state owned oligarch-ridden companies operating - so back to a imperial/communistic commercial model.

For gas, liquified gas is something that the US wanted to provide EU with. Naturally more difficult with submarines like sharks.

Lately in the meetings I’ve seen him in, his staff are starting to look at him very uneasily, they seem extremely concerned. I don’t know if that’s with what’s happening in Ukraine or Putin himself

There is multiple websites and youtube videos explaining why this has started. Numerous reason, fuel, wheat, defence positions, fear of Western influence. Loads of good youtube videos if you don't want to delve too deep.

Ok. Well he looked very sharp on that interview and also very clear about this agreement verbally now if he is lying don’t know, but it is similar to what I have read here about the agreement about the west helping UKR and Russia not invading them if they handed over the nuclear stuff, it was verbally. Is this true? How do we know?
Will check these videos you suggest.

Not quite about the war raging on but sort of relevant. Just seen a comment on Reddit that has got to be the best ever comment I have ever seen. Its was about Netflix not complying with Russian to stream 20 Russian channels or something. Reddit link here.

U.S streaming giant Netflix has responded to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine by saying that it will not comply with new Russian rules to carry 20 state-backed channels.

Netflix was due to fall under a series of new obligations in Russia on March 1 after it was added to a register of “audiovisual services” overseen by the country’s communications regulator, Roskomnadzor, last year.

The obligations mean that Netflix would have had to stream 20 Russian federal television stations, including the likes of Channel One, NTV and a channel run by the Russian Orthodox Church, Spas. Channel One in particular has close links to the Kremlin.

“Given the current situation, we have no plans to add these channels to our service,” a Netflix spokesperson said on Monday evening.

Anyway, the comment was-

That’s because it’s a figment of Putins imagination, there was never any treaty or written commitment that NATO or the European Union wouldn’t expand. Putin is just butt hurt because the Soviet Union collapsed and people chose democracy and freedom!
But the same applies to what I have read here about that agreement where UKR and their nuclear stuff?

They always have. They don't want to jump off a balcony later in the evening.

The satellite images of the large Russian convoy though is extremely concerning. If the Ukraine defences are creaking a bit this could knock the door down, sadly.

Didn't it take like 3 weeks to invade Iraq? Took the capital in a week? My memory is fading a bit, but it was certainly on those sort of timescales.

That was Tier 1 forces (US led Coalition) versus Saddam’s Poundland Army. Only the Republican Guard units put up any fight and the Coalition had absolute control of the air from Day 1.

Russia appears to have sent their B Team and they do not control the skies over Ukraine. The large number of Western supplied and very effective anti tank weapons in the hand of determined Ukrainians is really hampering the Russian advance.

Probably angry and say the wrong word or the right word at the wrong time - you future may not be very bright.

Yeah, the question is, are Putin and his high command utterly inept or is there something else going on or coming next.

I think there has been some hubris, but I also think part of that is a nonchalance that they can up the ante at will.

Its doesn’t make any sense, I’m baffled by it.

Saddam didn't have a country with sattelites constantly feeding his army with up to date intel

Ukraine is pretty much a pawn in a proxy war between NATO and Russia already.

Soon they will be saying Putin has to go, I'm convinced

And that’s when his finger will get itchy on that button
someone's calculating that he doesn't have the authority or people woudn't listen to the orders.

seems mental to be giving Ukraine jets, it's probably already one step too far.

It just enforces the opinion that everyone in NATO is out to get Russia and they really are the Threat in the eyes of Russian military surely
