If they are genuine, paperwork won't take long, apparently so I have been told on here.

So real refugees will not need to be kept long.

It is 99% women and kids anyway, as all the fighting age men and boys are left in Ukraine.

France clearly aren't doing enough if this woman is cold and hungry and has no place to live. Are they? If France was good enough none of these people would want to cross to the UK.

There clearly aren't plenty of immigration centres since we can't cope with the current levels of immigration...

Help as many as we can feeling war in Ukraine. Especially if they have friends / family here already that can help get them on their feet. It’s really not asking a lot ffs.

The original tweet was she spent time sleeping rough leaving Ukraine to go to Poland, she’s not in the gutter in France. This country should be taking more, especially given how much all the chest thumpers in here say the uk has done. Take and process them in, especially if they have relatives. It’s not hard.

Strange that the Ukrainian conflict has women and children as refugees, yet other migration that's forced onto us is 99% young angry males. How very odd.

On a more serious note, the Visa thing has been a complete shambles, even though Patel is my bae shes dropped the ball here, however we cant and shouldn't just take anyone without checks in place regardless of the situation.

The Russians are lobbing 500KG bombs at some cities, so it's going to get more than a little grim for the people left behind.

In this case to be with family I believe. I think that’s a good enough reason as did the Hone Sec I thought? As said, something is awry here on one of the sides.

Well they are not all full, so not sure what you mean by that.

One near me is barely 50% full.

Applied for a job there recently, just waiting to hear back.

Any news on the result of the israeli prime ministers visit to Putin? I see he has spoken to the Ukraine President 3 times since the visit, I think a ceasefire will happen soon

If it ends up similar to other campaigns, Russia usually say anyone left behind, after civilian evacuation, is instantly regarded as a hostile enemy combatent.

US secretary of state Anthony Blinken is holding a news conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu.
Ms Sandu tells reporters that more than 250,000 refugees have crossed into the eastern European country from Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion.
Mr Blinken says the US supports Moldova's European aspirations but the process of it joining the EU is up to Moldova and EU members.
He adds that energy security is "critical" to maintaining Moldova's sovereignty and independence.
He also said that the US is "actively looking" at how it can be able to backfill should Poland decide to supply planes to Ukraine.
