Are you conflating asylum seekers with illegal immigrants? It would not be the first time someone of your "disposition" would do this to fit their blinkered biased narrative. I would suggest that someone seeking asylum via legal means is most likely going to have what they feel legitimate reasons to assume their application has merit. The illegal immigrants on the other hand would know they have no chance getting a visa, so use illegal means of entry.

When compared with EU countries, the UK ranked 14th out of the individual countries in terms of the number of asylum applications per capita.
You're assuming the two are always different. If someone's bid for asylum is not legitimate and they do not leave when required, then what are they?
