It's done. No one cares anymore.

All the people that shouted about covid 24/7 have suddenly forgot about it. The media has directed them to something else.

It truly is amazing to see how quickly people change.

Yeah well I haven't been able to visit my mum in hospital since just before Xmas due to them not allowing more than 1 visitor, once a week and it always being the same visitor. They haven't got this rule in place because of the war in Ukraine.

This is the same rhetoric that's been heard since pretty much the 2nd day of the war and yet Russia keep making inroads

Russia is making inroads far slower than anticipated. I thought Putin would take Kyiv last week, but he didn't even reach it.

I think to end the war there should be an agreement that Ukraine won't join NATO.

I was going to say I'll have what you're smoking, but this comment made me realise I don't want that kind of drug screwing up my head.

I don't know, as I have said.

So then is it not the case that its perhaps not a good idea just to open the doors to anyone and everyone when we clearly can't care for them properly? Especially when they're already safe and it presents additional risk in them coming here?

I have not said open doors to anyone and everyone.

But to open doors fully to any Ukranian refugees.

Not make it damn near impossible to get in.

Really not that difficult to seperate genuine refugees, from other immigrants.

And the fact is NOT that we cannot care for them, we very obviously can, and are, when compared to the life they have come from in Ukraine.

The fact it is expensive, should never be a factor.

I'm increasingly convinced that not only can Russia not win this war but that it has already lost. Putin's goals are unachievable, the military costs mounting rapidly, and the economy in ruins. The question isn't whether Russia wins, it's how much of Ukraine it devastates before admitting defeat.

That's a big problem in itself as if Putin feels that he's not going to win (whether that's due to loss of too many troops / equipment etc). Then he's more than likely just to drop a FAOB/MAOB on Kyiv.

Anyone care to explain why the U.S ,U.K . France and China has failed to act on the Budapest Memorandum? Going by what’s going on now no one in there right mind will ever give up Nukes.

I think Odessa will be a possible the turning point for NATO , it then cuts if the whole of the Black Sea for all of the Ukraine and makes a staging post to Invade Moldova . Like I’ve said sooner or later we’re goi g to have call Putin Bluff and play Nuclear Poker with him .

Notice how it skirts over that we didn't send any lethal defensive weapons until 5 weeks ago when the US has been for years.
Not surprising when UK is very small compared to US military budget. The training is something at least

I think to end the war there should be an agreement that Ukraine won't join NATO. That the Russian army should withdraw peacefully from Ukraine, including in the two rebel held areas. Also that the Ukrainian people have a free and open election, monitored by independent observers. This should all be written down and co-signed by US, UK, EU and China at least.

I think at this point it's too late for that.

Russia have outright lied on so many things, to the point that no country can trust them again.

The only way forward for Ukraine if they're available to survive/win this war is to join nato so that Russia can't regroup and try again in 10 years time.
