What happens if he threatens nukes, do we fight?

We seem scared of Russia not other way round.
We would have to fight. If we conceded NATO countries because of his threats, where would he stop? He’d probably end up trying to take the whole of Europe, the nutter that he is.

Everyone is going to pay for this war literally, watch petrol and diesel goto £2 a litre.

Some of my customers are old people in the sticks I don't know how they will afford to pay for there fuel, it's all gone crazy and if they ban russian crude it will be even more.

The “humanitarian corridors” provided by cease fire today lead to Russia or Belarus. What the actual?!
Is there a special camp for re-education at the end of the march? You literally couldn’t make this stuff up, I still don’t see how Russia manages to control the whole of the Ukraine without a massive permanent military presence assuming the Ukrainian people don’t decide to accept Russian rule which seems unlikely.

Yeah imagine thinking we could do our bit and take in Ukrainians fleeing a war. But no that is on every other country in Europe to do, we're full  The lack of empathy in here sometime is shameful it really is. "Putin is evil and what is happening in Ukraine is terrible..... house Ukrainian refugees?? Nah sorry they can go elsewhere"

Germans waiting at Berlin train station with offers to house and feed refugees.

We wouldn't be full up if the EU had addressed their migrant problem in the first place. They let unlimited numbers pour into their external borders and then didn't actually want them and turned a blind eye to them massing at Calais. From there they've done very little to prevent them crossing the Channel so we've ended up with tens of thousands this year already. We don't have unlimited funds to house these people.

Its a win-win for Putin.

People go to Russia / Belarus and Putin claims "see they were being attacked and wanted to be rescued"
People rufuse to go and Putin claims "see those bad nazis prevented them from leaving and want to continue to use them as human shields"

What gives you that impression? Is it because rational western governments are unwilling at this point to start a slide towards world war three? I don’t sense fear in the western response just a healthy dose of respect for the situation where any escalation could set us on irreversible path towards nuclear war. Both sides fear total destruction hence we haven’t marched into the Ukraine and Russia has decided the west arming the Ukraine is ok.

Of course, but my point is I dont think we and others will honour Nato treaty if Romania attacked. Which in turn means if Putin attacks a Nato country he wil get away with it.
Romania attacking vs Romania getting attacked are two very different things. Nato is under no obligation to step in there.

edit: oh I think I get what you were saying now, you meant if they got attacked

* the referendums were illegal; they have no legal authority, because Ukraine's constitution does not allow any region to declare independence from the rest of the country

* the referendums were rigged; independent observers were denied access, Russian voters were brought in to stack the vote, only 34% of Crimean residents actually participated in the referendum, and Russian voters themselves admitted they had been allowed to vote as foreign citizens despite this being illegal

And, as a truthseeker like @LCG-xyz doubtless already knows from his diligent research, Ukraine had an actual free, fair, and legal referendum on independence and every region - including Crimea - voted to be independent of Russia.

NATO has already said they would defend any NATO member country attacked.

I definitely think they will adhere to that.

There is no way Putin will be allowed to "get away" with attacking a NATO member nation.

Hence the build up of allied troops in NATO countries bordering Ukraine.

They are already defending their position .

No it would be 4 days as the Brits will like to stop for
I wonder how long it will be before people at top level realise Putin has lost the plot and oust him from power.

Not really, if they take Kiev in the next couple of days then he will become a Hero and the work is done in their eyes at least. Its then down to the West and how long we can keep sanctions in place. My guess is not very long as we want the money.

I am talking about Romania been attacked.
Yeah, I’ve no doubt nato would respond. Conventionally and with overwhelming AirPower in Romania. Not sure they’d strike inside Russia but Russian ships and subs probably fair game at that point.

but, there’s no possibility they could launch a ground invasion when done in Ukraine for years. I don’t think they can win in Ukraine anyway. It’s not like ww2, Russia just doesn’t have the fabrication capability to mass produce modern armour and weapons with all the electronics that goes into them.
