Wrong when we moved we were put with green energy out of our control, we we're then put with Shell and we could not get access to our account for 6 months!!

Not sure if troll or living in a cave

If you deemed you could afford to move then you should factor in the other costs.

So your second solution isn't a solution is it? Everybody dies isn't a great outcome.

If you've watched any of the Russians talking about their culture and Putin, including the excellent video by Vlad Vexler, as well as Valery Morozov, or indeed if you've met Russians in person, then you'll realise they can be, from our view, very direct / confrontational people.

In Alpha psychology you have to be prepared to take the ultimate step, which ironically is the best path to avoid it.

The precedent is being set that if a country doesn't have any nukes and isn't in a military alliance, and are attacked by a country with nukes, the West is going to stand by and do nothing. Moldova must be getting worried. If I was living in Taiwan I'd start planning to move.

You are not getting it! we moved in June at that point green was still the supplier we don't have a crystal ball how did we know they we're going into administration.

go tell that to the millions of customers who we're affected the same

Fine, means test it with UC. Those that can prove from their bank statements that they have nothing left after their rent / mortgage, an assumed cost of heating their home and other energy requirements is deducted. If that doesn't leave what the DWP deem enough for food then they should receive a UC top up to bring that figure to the figure deemed enough to buy food.

You are nuts - no one should be OK with a situation where even people working a reasonable job and moderate lifestyle are having to look at benefits to make ends meet.

Presumably you didn't down size so it seems your forecast of what the future held was far too optimistic.

This is really for another thread but the elephant in the room is cost of housing its far too high but won't be allowed to reduce because the banks depend on it.

Many on minimum wage must be getting top ups otherwise they wouldn't have any roof over their head.

Putin takes Kyiv, withdraws, claims victory but does one last thing to prove a point, he is going to cut a subsea cable to show how powerful Russia is, then he walk away victorious.

Russia rebuilds (somewhat), realigns with others in the world, proper trouble starts again in 10 years time.

*Russia-Ukraine Talks to Start at 12:00 GMT – Russian State TV Cites BelTA
*Russian Govt Approved List of Unfriendly Countries: IFX
*Russia Adds US, EU, Ukraine, Japan, UK to Unfriendly List: TASS

'Unfriendly list'?

Is that like the naughty step?

Probably. Even Kyiv seems like a long shot now.

They just need to borrow more money,

I'm no economist, but I'd hope it would all balance out a bit... Wage increases pushes up prices of domestic goods, more expensive goods equal more VAT income, higher wages equal more income tax. More government income allows for public wages to increase. Inflating away some of the Covid bill would be good too? Proportionally our household bills will be forever changed, with energy taking up a much bigger slice of the pie.
