Ooof C17 over Poland squawking a 7700 emergency code wonder what that is about - second time recently.

He's at 3,000 feet I'm guess depressurisation problem for RCH331 and he's made a sharp turn back to a nearby airport.

He's coming down quickly 600 feet now..

He's down at the airport. Port Lotniczy , Rzeszow-Jasionka, safe landing all good.

RRR6733 another Boeing C-17A Globemaster III there too at same airport.

I don't think there was any problems and looked like a normal flight path and landing turn to the airport and squawking a 7700 emergency maybe something they are told to do before landing to clear air space if needs be or to alert the airport emergency units to be prepared in case of an emergency on landing.

If the information on Twitter is anything to go by Ukraine still hasn't committed its most significant armour assets. Though given the performance of Russian T-72s and 80s there might be a reason for that LOL. Most of the Ukrainian tanks utilised have been the T-64s and older variants so far with I believe at least 2 heavy armour brigades held back west of Kyiv.
It's a smart play by Ukraine, even though their tanks are on average better than Russias they lack the numbers so could be swarmed and overwhelmed in a full on engagement. By using anti tank rockets against Russia's "bad" tanks it means if/when they do start sending good stuff in Ukraine can then employ their tanks to take them out (assuming Russia's good stuff doesn't just fall over against anti tank rockets too lol).

I.E Russia have sent in their T-80BVMs which are their best tank excluding the T-14, those are actually a decent threat so could result in Ukraine deploying decent T-64/84 tanks to counter them, which hasn't been needed against junk like the T-72/90 and vanilla spec T-80.

RAF C-17 at the same airport, not sure if it is a usual spot of if they landed to help out on the ground.

Usual spot - lot of stuff going in and out of there with the current situation.

Yeah - though I suspect a good bit of it is a sort of blocking movement - makes it harder for Russia to cut off Kyiv with that threat sitting out there.

This is interesting, not only was that Chechen convoy ambushed but the picture/video of them in a forest camp might well have led to them being hit with MLRS/Grad, at least 300 of them that is:

Whether the FSB leak rumours are true or not, that convoy ambush + this apparent attack on their camp is no doubt a huge blow + the suspicion from an already paranoid Chechen leader of FSB assistance in some of this happening could perhaps cause tension.

Added to that he's always got internal threats from among other Chechens, presumably, this has weakened him a fair bit if he's lost most of the men he sent there (probably couldn't afford that sort of loss at all). There are of course rival Chechens fighting on the Ukrainian side.

Further to this, the whole Chechen situation has been nuts for a while, the infighting there isn't just between people who were on the Russian side during the second Chechen war vs rebels but also between people on the Russian side themselves.

Obviously, the current President has his private army, essentially local troops/police; the Kadyrovtsy (though officially under the Russian interior ministry) some of which have been sent to Ukraine, it was his father who made a deal with Putin and was the first Chechen Presiden after it was reabsorbed into Russia.

But there were other Chechen warlords too whose groups were part of the Russian federation too - there was the former bodyguard of the current President's father who lead a unit that was officially part of the FSB (Russia's security service/MI5&Special Brance equivalent and the main successor to the KGB), he was assassinated in Moscow in the 00s by Kadyrovtsy guys. There were also two other pro-Russian Chechen commanders both of which commanded units that officially came under GRU (Russia's (large) military intelligence unit) - there were actually firefights between these units and the Kadyrovtsy - essentially all of them officially coming under the control of the Russian government but fighting each other!!!

One of those commanders agreed to disband his unit, the other however was assassinated in Dubai, again in the 00s and again by Kadyrovtsy men... These guys are officially paramilitaries that are part of the Russian Interior ministry/officially technically part of Russian law enforcement/military yet they carry out assassinations not just in Chechnya (which a blind eye is turned to) but also in wider Russia and overseas.) this has meant one commander (who is also a current member of the Russian Parliament) is wanted along with a few other members of this unit in Dubai for murder!

Basically, Chechnya is a lawless **** hole run by ISIS-like guys who have worse than Russian levels of corruption + the usual middle east/central Asian religious **** hole levels of violence and infighting... and yet they're officially in charge of troops that are part of the federal government.

Now the head nutter has lost a bunch of guys in Ukraine... god knows what sort of infighting could happen in the future.

Am I hearing this right, he explained to her its not for the ICC to deal with and she responded the plan was to fo the ICC route?

Yup she has no idea what she is talking about, not a clue.. shameful really. He also tried to help her many times but she was still confused and repeating the same rubbish.

I always have a hard time with people like that who seem to exist completely in their own version of reality and unable to adjust their thinking and opinion even when it is laid out in front of them plainly information that is incontrovertible to any rational thinking which they could use to better inform themselves.

I'm sure we are all guilty of it to some extent but some just are in another league :(
