Horizon: Forbidden West

Path 1.07 dropped today which claims to fix some graphical issues. To be fair; I've not noticed the shimmering issue when playing on performance mode.

Thanks, I checked and it's still prevalent. Apparently exasperated for OLED's due to some techy reason I don't understand so won't bother quoting :) I am specifically talking about the weird brightness/contrast shifts when panning the camera and the shimmering.

Edit: Oops, hadn't actually updated. According to what I read though, those issues are still being investigated. Hopefully soon.

Hmmm; I'm playing on a LG CX and have left all the HDR stuff in-game on default but I did follow Vincent's recommendations for this TV and PS5 when it comes to tone mapping and all the other jazz. I confess I'm not sure how it has improved the experience or not but I've definitely not had the shimmering issue or noticed any obvious brightness shifts when panning the camera. Then again my eyesight is pretty useless.

The shifts were on quality mode sorry. Less noticeable on performance mode but it's still there as per Vincents video using that funny camera thing.
Will have a look once it's downloaded. I'd love to start it but unfortunately it detracts from my enjoyment.

I'm the same, playing on CX48 and have followed Vincent's tweaks with no shimmering that I can see

Seems they've added some blur to the grass etc to mitigate the shimmering. Can play it like this no problem.
Quality still very broken with the brightness shift when moving camera. Awesome, shower than gaming.

In hindsight I should have paced myself a bit more with this game. No incentive to go back and finish the remaining content after finishing the story.

Took a fair few screenshots too

Completed the melee pits and the Gemini story quest. Going to push on with the story now. Will then upgrade my remaining gear ready for the inevitable DLC drops.

Annoying that they haven’t fixed the shimmering issues.

@CaptainRAVE Yep, I personally feel it's the worst looking cross gen game I've played too on performance mode. More so with the latest patch. The vegetation specifically.

It has its moments where it looks breathtaking, but then others when you think ‘urgh, what’s going on’. Still encountering some annoying bugs too, fell down a hole a few days ago, fortunately I had saved recently.

I saw the patch notes last night about falling through the world.

Yea true not noticeable to worry about anyway the only time i thought the graphics look a bit poo was when i saw a small tornado in the distance and had weird effect around it.. is there a screenshot or video of what this shimmering etc looks like?

Assume you play on performance then? The most noticeable issues for me on the CX (HDR on) is quality mode, tilt camera at some grass, move it really slow and see how the brightness/contrast shifts when you stop and move it again.
Not sure on videos, if you don't notice then that's a win as far as I'm concerned!

Always performace not even tried quality tbh can't stand 30 fps.. felt like a slideshow when I tried it on some previous games..

Wonder how hard it would be for them to change their AA solution, even in the 4k mode it still doesn't look quite right.
Its a shame as i can tell the game would be stunning if they fixed the AA.

The climbing in this can be infuriating at times! lol Really weird why Aloy cannot grab onto a ledge or hop to the left or right when the X is right there
