We will see, yes I know about that too, but again that goes to the councils that £10k to pay for services in the council .. We will see how that one really goes, lets give it time and we will all see the real outcome of this and how they are throwing numbers around that will mysteriously vanish or pretend spent. Anyways the hosts should get the funds and more to help the people in their homes while there. Most will need help by the host to live in uk and know where to go etc . Some will speak zero English too and again kids will be lost here an adult maybe able to do what is needed but a lot are mothers and kids remember.


Lets wait and see what comes of all this and again I'm so happy to see so many willing to help and I'm sure they know they will end up having to spend out of their own pockets too to help as the £350 is not enough.

Are you going to be a host out of interest? The reality is people are conscious of money and it's a measly sum tbh, especially when the Govt will end up forking out 10 x the cost on hotel bills
 
This morning I looked up Russia's military budget. In cash terms, it's about the same as the UK and France, a little higher than Germany's. That's all. About a twelfth of the US, or a quarter of China.

With that it's claiming the largest force of tanks in the World, the most self propelled artillery, the largest number of towed artillery and rocket launchers, and the 3rd largest number of armoured vehicles. On top of that it claims the second largest number of planes and the second largest navy. Over 50x as many tanks as the UK has on the same budget.

Now I know Russia pays its soldiers in buttons, and so on, but military equipment is sold on a global market. It's no wonder that they're turning out to have poorly maintained crap, their military is so vastly bloated over what they're actually paying for that it cannot possibly be maintained at a globally competitive level.

Russias fault azzov battalion has whats basically a twisted swatstika on their uniform as well? Russias fault they azzov battalion indoctrinating kids as nazis and teaching them to hate Russia?
2nd video at the start child says "we will leave Moscow in ruins, we will conquer the whole world" who else said that?

almost seems like a terrorist organisation by any other name, in the middle east that's what they would be

oh wait they are the good guys now and not nazis at all, Zelensky is Jewish so there's obviously none of this stuff happening in his country.. this is just propaganda from Western media.

How quickly western media changes it tunes

In the context of that article unless Ukraine is taken completely the West has no choice but to heavily support the millions of Ukrainians remaining in the west of the country as a buffer - largely fighting aged and experienced. If sanctions are increasingly tightened and China mostly sits on the sideline eventually that is a fight Russia will lose.

If Russia was looking like mobilising Kaliningrad into the Baltics the West won't be sitting back or utilising ground based forces.

People volunteering to host are typically not doing it as a profitable business venture :rolleyes:

You should look into what Putin did in East Germany, he funded Nazis, it was his job..

So?
You realise every country has Nazis or Isis nutjobs, that's not an excuse to invade and bomb them into the stone age.
