"Ukrainian forces continue to defend [Kharkiv] .. with a pretty stiff resistance. [Russians are" there on the outskirts, as they were on Friday, but they've gotten really no closer to that. The fighting in Kharkiv remains pretty, pretty significant."

Surprised how long Kharkiv is holding out given the proximity to the Russian border so supply lines are less of an issue for the attackers - earlier on they were nearly over-run as well but liberal use of RPGs seems to have changed that - hope they've got plenty more in supply. How long they can hold out and how costly they make it for Russia could be a significant tipping point in a much wider scheme of things.

'The US has told allies that China signalled its willingness to provide military assistance to Russia to support its invasion of Ukraine, according to officials familiar with American diplomatic cables on the exchange.'

No surprise. China doesn't care about right or wrong, they just want this war over quickly. By giving Russia weapons, it will speed up the process.

So we have "no aid was requested" to "aid wouldn't be given anyway" to "aid is being given" within the space of a few hours, everyone keeping up? :p
