The generals seemed to start dying right after a bunch of ex-SAS snipers went over there. One was a confirmed sniper kill. I wonder....

A friend of mine was a Marine sniper in the 90's, out in the first Gulf War.....been out of touch with him for a few years now, wonder if I should check he's still around....

His knees were pretty knackered last time I saw him though and he's got a cushy job in the Police, so I'd be surprised if he felt the calling now!

Be interesting to see if she turns up later in a court hearing. Her defence can surely highlight the corruptness of the judicial system if it tries to simply silence her. If they can present evidence such as:

- Russia's own figures on killed and injured soldiers
- Footage of Ukraine damage

Surely the judges can't sit there and deny such evidence and keep a straight face...

They're going to want to make an example of her but if they allow cameras to show the trial its going to be some achievement to show a completely different story to the facts.

"If". Her lawyers can't even get access to her at the moment she's "hidden from them" to use their words which sounds like the kremlin is saving her for personal treatment i.e. whatever they decide to throw at her legal defence be damned she'll be lucky if she even gets one it'll be a show trial most likely she'll show up for the sentencing in the box before she's lead away to god knows how many years behind bars

Interesting - Saudis don't like the US, nor does Iran. China has been looking to secure it's Oil requirements - switch to our currency and we'll take 25% of the oil production.

So (a) this reduces OPEC dollar dominance as china looks to reduce world dollar dominance overall, (b) allows China to impact the US during any military activities and making war more costly to run as it looks to reduce the distance the US can exert it's pressure within Asia, (c) reduce it's risk exposure to the likes of Russia oil should Russo-china conflicts heat up which with a weak Putin they could steamroller. Plus with RU+CN control of the oil markets they can dictate the OPEC pricing and cause problems for Europe.

I wondered if the heavy police response to the squatters on the balcony of Oleg Deripaska's mansion in London was so that they could quickly search it for any useful dirt on him. I even wondered if the protesters might not have been who they were claimed to be to facilitate a search.

Knees, hips, ankles and lower back problems = the signs of former infantry, Booties and Paras.

My guess is that this latest piece of propaganda is designed to appeal to those in Ukraine and the West who are saying 'Surely Russians can't support this war, surely they are reasonable?' By convincing them that the Russians are indeed capable of sympathising with the other side, they make the Ukrainians look more extreme by comparison, and give false hope to any Westerners pressuring their governments not to get involved.

It also makes the West sympathise with the Russian people to seed the thought that maybe the sanctions are unfair when they hit the "common Russian", it's incredibly difficult to believe anything that comes out of Russia right now especially when it's on state run television.

Eh? How's that work then?

See above

Mmm yes get someone to walk a sign onto the live broadcast, a sign specifying the war as a cunning distraction from the war.

A broadcast going out to russians who are forbidden to even mention the war. But lets remind all those russians about that war they can't talk about.

If it was a protest for Russians about the war, why did she write it in English too ??

Fortunately because we live in a free society we're all allowed to make our own mind up on whether it's propaganda or not and be able to discuss it

until someone comes over and spits on your post claiming you support Putin for daring to question the narrative being pushed by twitter and social media.

not questioning if Putin is evilm just questioning if everything thing we are told is legit, I suspect a lot of western stuff is aimed at Russian soldiers and Russian people who are using western media to try and find out the truth.

I was actually googling Psychosis yesterday wondering if I were in one or not, not even joking.

to much American patriot crap in our society, I'm surprised people aren't suggesting we round up Russians in our country and stick them in camps like the USA did to the Japanese in ww2.

for all the progress that was supposed to have been made since ww2, it doesn't seem like we really made much.

It wasn't the Germans, it was Hitler and the Nazi party etc, but no it's not just Putin Punish all Russians, make them starve and suffer, don't let them have access to mcdonalds, cola, addidias or any western brands.

Isolate them and turn them into western hating communist lovers

Absolute madness, a 2 star general should be nowhere near an area where you can be taken out(except for a lucky C&C strike by a drone) never mind 5 of them. WTF are the Lt-Col’s and full Col’s doing.

I suspect he's been given orders to sort his own **** out or be kangaroo court convicted and shot as a traitor. Trouble is half of the officers seem to have been elevated through their ability to enable their boss's corruption and not fight a real war..

I would expect shortly that Uranium mining would come under 'attack' to essentially create controlled uranium fuel/weapons production. Given this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_uranium_production I would expect RU+CN's next plan would be to push up the conflict in Kazakhstan to reduce uranium production.. putting the squeeze on Europe.

The Russian government sounds like the UK Brexiteers - perhaps we can send them Jacob Rees Mogg as the new Russian Opportunities minister given the Tory party links to Putin..

NATO May Significantly Strengthen Its Land Forces.

I know breaking out of conventional mindsets can be difficult and it requires significant investment and manpower but I find it boggling we aren't looking to surge our military in this situation to at least another 20K infantry and increase the number of aircraft, solidify the position with air-defences, armoured fighting vehicles, high readiness assault forces. It is an old saying but peace in these kind of times often comes from being prepared for war.

Even if costly this is really not a position where we want to be caught on the back foot - you'd think we'd learn that kind of lesson with COVID :s

That's got the feel of something far more significant than it intially appears

NATO Article 5 does not cover neighbouring countries being attacked.

Putin has always known full well that he can invade Ukraine and all he will face is sanctions, he decided that was acceptable.

I get they want more support and intervention, I would too, but it's not happening.

seems a Ukrainian 18 year old already got raped by 2 guys in Germany on a hotel ship, according to the Bild newspaper.

I can see a wave of bad stuff happening in the UK if no one is checking on peoples welfare on a regular basis
