Yep - Ukraine produces a large about of Africa's cereals and 1/3 of China's food stuffs for animals bound for it's population's plates. It's a point I raised earlier in the thread.
I wonder if there's any strategic value in poisoning the soil?

He's lost the plot... Anyone that believes this will end at Ukraine is in for a rough time. This mess needs dealing with in another way now and I hope his people on the inside deal with him as this is going to end really bad for everyone including the people in his country, he will soon start doing public executions of his "scum and terrorists" as he puts it to scare the public from uprising against him.
Something is really off with him now and not his "normal" behaviour, anyways we will see and we will keep watching while this all gets worse and worse. The longer this runs the worse it is going to get to the rest of the world now and his sights are clearly not just on Ukraine.

Chilling when he mentions race - the intonation was disturbingly a mirror of Hitler.
It occurred to me that if China negotiate cereals from Russia for their own supply, they can also do it for African states to increase influence.

And to think some people in this thread earlier on were saying the comparison to Hitler was sensationalist, how wrong they were!
Wasn't China already having issues with food before this? Not sure how much they can get away with doing that all the while Russia requiring more of it's own supply for itself. India has a surplus nowadays so maybe they'd make the most out of it?

I find this whole thing quite disturbing - for many years Putin did act with a degree of rational and shrewdness to keep the strategic position Russia vs West (and other opposing entities) in check and balance. I wasn't under any delusion it would always stay that way and he might very well have a long term goal of furthering Russian interests in a far more extreme way but I didn't expect to see things deteriorate this quickly, especially as things haven't gone how it would appear he wanted them to go he seems to be showing more and more signs of insanity which I don't think are just theatrics.
Subtitled version of Putin's recent speech:
Disturbing stuff.

I wonder how many missiles are auto targeted on non EU/US/UK targets? There must be some targeted at China. I assume those aren't attached with the Dead-hand automated retaliation system. If so accidents can and do happen.
I don't think Mr. Putin has caught Political Correctness disease, whatever else he may have....Not sure why anyone might be surprised by this speech, many in here have applauded splitting the people of Russia and bringing down her government from within, did they think Putin wouldn't notice the ploy?
Russia flying a ton of stuff back and forth (not sure on specific direction of travel) from Kaliningrad today - don't like the look of that.
Neither does NATO from the looks of the Swedish air force ISR flight (EDIT: And a UK Rivet Joint).
There seems to be a lot of movement of planes going east towards Yamantau which is speculated to be a nuclear bunker of some sort, it just seems that we are close to a fine line of what is next to come. Putin whether bluffing or not is making a lot of threats to the US that they will pay a hefty price so it wouldn't surprise me if we see the news about a missile that was "not nuclear" hitting somewhere in the US desert. But i suspect that would be straight to Article 5. all these false flags and everything going on hell knows whats next.
