Likewise with Ajax, etc. :( I hope we very rapidly solve that issue given those kind of vehicles are the backbone of our fighting capability. It still boggles my mind almost every army in the world gets those wrong.

^^ This and throwing 40k extra troops in to defend the eastern flank probably has me the most worried, yes you need to show force but NATO clearly think something tangible is likely to happen.

I mean 5 carrier groups, that's one hell of a show of force.

Isn't this just for their annual war game exercise?

I've kind of been reluctant to say it - but the way the US is acting reminds me of the lead up where it just felt like the US was reacting ahead of the threat we could see like they knew with certainty where the next few days were going... and they are acting like that now - i.e. the Stryker battle group sent to the border with Belarus, appear to be moving tanks from storage in Norway closer to the region, not just making them ready in case, etc. which if as seems likely the earlier urgency was due to having intel coming from fairly high up in the Russian government is concerning.

It's a shame to use them on empty tanks but the Russians could come back for them, best would be for Ukraine to arrange for troops carrying cheap TNT sticks or C4 to visit these tanks and blow the tracks off them, that way they aren't going anywhere without waiting a $50k missle

Interesting month ahead, if Ukraine start to push elements of the Russian military into a defensive posture, and even backwards, I wonder if Putin will see this as a potential threat to the territorial integrity of his country, conditions which will 100% lead to some major escalation.

There is a longer, fuller frame, video of it which is being attributed to a Ukrainian MLRS attack on Kherson airport - can see some rockets being intercepted and others appearing to explode in the air possibly prematurely.

While not wanting to inflame the situation NATO have a job to do, getting the ducks in line is an inevitable part of that job. The west isn't choosing war here, but to not be prepared would be a huge mistake.

I'm an advocate for being prepared - but the way the US is acting has again that uncanny feeling they are doing so based on specific intel.

Well I'd have no idea about a specific threat, but the signals coming from the kremlin are worrying. I'm hoping for a defenestration event..

That airport thing is comical... multiple times the Russians restocked it with helicopters only to have the Ukrainians blow them all up!

I think this time the Ukrainians are actually making a serious push to retake Kherson though.

LOL all those years of corruption. There was a picture on twitter the other day of Russian rations being sold on their version of e-bay... yet the troops actually in theatre got supplied with out-of-date ones and not nearly enough by the sounds of it.

So many people turning a blind eye to robbing the state dry has not done them any favours.
