To be fair to India, Europe is still buying their energy from Russia its a bit hypocritical to say India shouldn't, India is in a tough position as they need Russian weapons to protect themselves against China, most of their weapon systems are from Russia so they need the spare parts. They have got themselves in a stupid position as Russia would drop India in a heartbeat if something did start between India and China.

Thanks India. Stay classy.

Not sure we can keep the moral high ground when we're groveling for Saudi oil and most of Europe is relatively happy still buying Russian gas...

Realpolitik from all sides, whether it be calculated or blatant it's the same thing.

Another great video, explaining why the myth about Russia keeping their best equipment back for later use is most likely to be incorrect and they really are loosing their best kit in high numbers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lem3enNkbV0

If Russia was mostly using their best then size of invasion force vs their standing army would far more heavily slant losses to their best equipment than the numbers in the video if not close to 100%.

Some of their best is represented but a lot of the frontline direct combat forces are around 60+% bulked out of new draft man power and older stock put back into service hence the ratio of losses for BMPs, etc.

More the "we can attack you but you're not allowed to attack us" as a form of authoritarian attempting to maintain a "we tell you, you have no choice" posturing that the Kremlin is too keen on.
I’m pretty sure that’s most country’s preferred option. I don’t think it’s anything to do with authoritarian govt.
There’s a reason we like to fight wars abroad.

In the video he has given evidence, I haven’t seen much from anyone else when arguing otherwise

Some are calling it a false flag but I'm not sure it has much value in that respect but who knows.

Part of me is suprised it happened if it was Ukraine, so much for their air defence capability

The other part of me is not suprised at all given how Russia has performed this war

It's a dangerous move though given Russia's threats on nuclear weapon use if their existance of state is threatened, does attacks on Russia soil count in that or does it mean full on invasion, hard to tell given how they are supreme trolls

I really want to see them blow this bridge up

Whenever this bridge gets mentioned my mind keeps going back to the sequence in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly where Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach rig a bridge with dynamite and then blow it up. There must be a couple of crazy enough ukraines to do the same :D

People seem to have quickly forgotten all the information posted by OSINT sources in the build up to the invasion which gave a good cross-section of what forces comprised the invasion.

Also another dangerous misconception - this doesn't well represent what a Russian force would look like if the country was on a full war footing.

There's not many places we can fight wars at home. That's why football was invented.

@Rroff

I understand compulsory conscription is shortly to begin in Russia.

Russia doesn’t really have the money or now the import of parts to put the country on a full war footing

Not sure if they just have a sense of humour or actually serious. An attack on home soil after what they've done/still doing in Ukraine and "it's a threat to peace talks".

The biggest threat to the "peace" talks is that Russia keep going back on everything they agree to anyway, so it's a pretty idle threat. I would much rather place extra strain on Russia's supply chain than take any sabre rattling seriously as this point.

Well that all sounds good for us, and bad for Russia

I think Custor you need to look at the language used by the Kremlin in this instance.

Putin has dangled the carrot of a ceasefire only to start or continue action. So it's not a stranger to the behaviour. It should also be no surprise to the Kremlin that a ceasefire is something that needs action on both sides and a ceasefire isn't in place until the troops stop shooting. I would expect that Russia will need to demonstrate this rather than talk about it - even if that means a phased ceasefire - when one area stops, then that is matched by the Ukrainians, then the next area etc.
