Interesting map found on Reddit, yellow dots are the Ukrainian counter attacks from yesterday and the blue ones are from today. It looks like on the west side of Kyiv there trying to cut off one pocket of Russian's from the army in north.

Thales finally get to see their missile system in action after 25 years in service.

It's fancy and unique but someone has to actually be attacking for such a short range missile shotgun to have some value

That the range i saw written

The Starstreak was sent to Ukraine as part of a weapons package from Britain that includes thousands of Next Generation Light Anti-tank Weapon (NLAW) missiles.

It can be fired from a stand or shoulder launcher and take out jets and helicopters up to 7km away.

In contrast to other anti-aircraft missiles, it is not a "fire and forget" system.

The projectile splits into three darts in mid-air and must be laser guided to targets by the operator on the ground.

This makes it almost impossible for enemy aircraft to deploy counter measures such as flares to distract the missile because,
unlike the US-made Stinger, it does not home in on infrared energy.

So its biggest strength is also its biggest weakness, I can't imagine them being great in Urban areas unless you can set up on a highrise roof likewise in mountainous areas it will be easy to lose sight of your target

And this is why multiple weapons systems exist!

No matter how many of these hand grenades i throw i never seem to take out an aircraft.

Use the best weapon system for the task at hand.

STARStreak is a truly versatile missile and is most effective when dealing with targets with short exposure times. As soon as a target is detected the operator presses the trigger and launches the missile. (There is no waiting for lock on).

At this point I don't trust the Russians when they are saying one thing, as they end up steam rolling across the borders.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do start the Moldova invasion. It'll be the same situation as Ukraine.
