On top of this, there is Russian politicians in their parliament just last week who declared that Russians are the supreme race and the Ukrainians and Europeans should not have been born
Get comfortable with the current situation, I foresee the next 20-30 years as proxy conflicts with Russia vs West. Big bonus' incloming for large weapons manufacturers. I mean lets face it. Its just a continuation of the staus quo of the cold war, with a little added technology. Only major difference hear is the accessability of information for the public to digest.

On reddit, there is a post called "21+! This is Mariupol. All Russians should see it, as all Germans should have seen such in 1945". :(

Read the comments before watching.

In 20-30 years Putin will be 89-99 years old (or more likely dead) so unlikely it will drag on that long.

In fact if the Russian people find out on mass the truth about what's been happening in Ukraine his 2024 re-election hopes are toast, supressing opposition wouldn't be enough.

I think its a bit naive to think this is the result of one man alone, Putin may not persevere alone. However the regime will likely live on beyond. I feel the aging and increasingly isolated population wont spontantiously switch to western thinking post Putin.

Maybe I'm just being pessimistic... I dunno but I feel we arnt looking at it it from the right perspective. The Russian population dont have the same world viewpoint as we do.

I'm not sure how many of those within the regime are ideologically onboard with Putin. I feel like quite a lot of them are going through the motions out of fear of Putin and desire to hold on to one or more of status, privilege, power or wealth. Some like Sergei Shoigu and Alexander Bortnikov seem like sharks who'll do whatever it takes to survive.

Only a few like Sergei Lavrov and possibly Sergei Naryshkin (despite the dressing down), seem to see the West and the situation with Ukraine the same way as Putin does.

But it is a bit hard to be sure about a lot of that.

Civilians being killed could it not also be a reaction to everyone willing being armed.

A few weeks ago that was the impression I got from the news?

Don't really have enough detail but these seem to be after the initial occupation and largely don't appear to be people who were likely to have been mistaken for being armed around the time of death, etc. a lot seem to have happened within the last 2-3 days as Russia started to pull back from those areas.

Can't verify it though the smoke is the same as other images/video but supposedly strikes on Odesa:

To those people spitting vitriol at the Russian soldiers let me ask you a question.

Would you ever shoot a civilian in cold blood?

Now imagine what you would have to go through before you would willingly carry out such an act.

THAT is what these soldiers must have been through.

War is abhorrent, it is ugly and it turns decent people into animals.

The blame needs to fall on the leaders that cause it. Leaders and commanders need to be prosecuted. Rank and file soldiers need help and therapy.

NB. I realise this is a simplistic view, but we need to focus on less hatred, not more.

So you world have excused the SS for all it's crimes during ww2 for following orders huh.

Biggest load of rubbish I have ever read anywhere.

Give your head a wobble ! Sick.

Russia today is not the USSR, they will never last long in that scenario.
They will bankrupt themselves quicker than the time it take me to boil an egg.

Still a large country, lots of resources, and while they don't have the man power of the USSR still significant population size. While in the current situation things are difficult for them they could like North Korea largely decouple from the wider world and focus their economy and industry on military production.

Wasn't sure if the video was authentic at the time - seems to match other sources though. Looks like tit for tat, oil depot for oil depot maybe in response to the Belgorod attacks.

Ton of transport flights into Kaliningrad this morning - wish I had any idea what was going on there - the pattern doesn't really match troops/equipment being flown out to use in Ukraine.
