Interesting that it doesn't seem to have been the French CAESARs that were used as per Russian media but rather a bit of home-grown 155mm Ukrainian artillery that hasn't been seen until now:
I guess Russia was able to just about cope with the drone attacks and occasional airstrike, there are a rather limited amount of munitions that can be put on target that way, at least via the drones and the airstrikes are super risky... but once they've got artillery in the area that can lob multiple 155mm shells on target then it's game over, they simply couldn't hold the island any longer as it's just turned into a turkey shoot for Ukraine.
