They are taking territory, but what are they gaining exactly? They have absolutely decimated area's due to the way they just shell everything to pieces and move in. They would bankrupt themselves as a country trying to rebuild Ukraine if they 'win'.

Their weekly territorial gains are slowing towards zero. They are pretty much just saving face at this point.

I expect we will see negotiations mooted in the next month or two.

Russia will be keen to secure as much territory as they can, prior to that.

Not a decisive battle, month ago it was on top of news that Donbas would decide the fate of Ukraine..

I think it kind of has, but not in the way people wanted to see, it looks like a long protracted war is increasingly on the cards unless Ukraine can utterly exhaust the ability for Russia to fight on.

a lot of Russian ammo depots going boom boom talks are that this will effect there logisitics in time.

Just how Kyiv went will the tide turn in Ukraine favour?

Another one few hours ago, train carrying ammo blown up by rocket/missle while in Donetsk train station.

And Russia seems to be getting more desperate about the Kerch bridge in Crimea, they have now positioned smoke machines and corner deflection mirrors in an attempt to stop Ukraine using HIMARS to destroy the bridge. It might just be copium; is a mirror and some smoke really going to stop HIMARS hitting its target??

Be interesting if Ukraine can destroy it - if nothing else for how it makes Russia look if they can't protect it.

Not with HIMARs unless the US decide to give them the longer range munitions

In terms of the -- the range of the systems, the GMLRS that we're providing for the HIMARS have a 70 kilometer range. So they actually can reach any area of Ukrainian territory where you would have Russian forces that the Ukrainians are seeking to target. So we see this as -- as a highly capable system for their operating environment.

Q: I'm -- I'm sorry but from the lines in-- in-- in eastern -- in eastern Ukraine to get close -- even close to the Russian border it's more like 150, 160 kilometers. That's said -- that puts the Russian supply lines, essential supply lines out of range.

SENIOR DEFENSE OFFICIAL: All I can say is, you know, I've -- I've looked at this in terms of the placement of these HIMARS and the position of -- of Russian forces and Russian targets, and they are reachable.

Q: And just one point, it also puts Russian targets -- targets in Crimea out of range.

SENIOR DEFENSE OFFICIAL: Again, I'll just -- I'll just stand by my initial points that, you know, at the 70 kilometer --

Even Tochka with 120km range you'd have to be either launching it in the middle of the Azov sea or inside Crimea to be in range

They won't rebuild, they want the crops and minerals but do not care about the people or what they want, this is Putin and Russia, citizens outside the rich elite are not a priority.

The idea was to use ATACMS, but the US is either not giving it to Ukraine for fear of escalating too quickly or the cost is too prohibitive.

Sounds familiar
In a way, but Russia takes it to the extreme, we might be burdened with some donkeys but they pale in comparison to Putin's regime, gay rights etc, people's land is taken without compensation etc

When was the last time we poisoned opposition leaders and basketball players who don't tow the party line?

Can't guarantee the veracity of course, but on this topic, Russian Dashcam anyone?

So how long before NATO troops go into Ukraine to fight Russia since Ukraine is even with all of NATOs help still losing ground.
Can't be long now, Putin will not want more than Donbass and then that will be a Russian victory as holding ground is far easier than taking it.

This is making NATO members pretty desperate as they cannot afford a Russian victory after investing so much and destroying their own economies over this war.

This also explains why Russia has been holding back a lot of its latest tech, incase of NATO involvement.

It's ridiculous that the regulars of this thread are still posting about Ukraine victories as if Ukraine is winning the war.

So clueless.

Getting them to work longer hours is not going to be received well by the poor Russians , also it shows that there is a serious supply problem in Russia.

The west Economies are not destroyed, where did you pluck that from.
Just because the Russians are advancing a little you think they are losing, things turn around when you least expect it.

Russia has got itself into a very big mess, there no chance they will keep those lands.
