AMD GRAPHICS DEALS = 6900 XT @ £899, 6800 XT @ £649, 6800 @ £589, 6700 XT @ £449, 6650 XT @ £379 and 6600 @ £289

6900XT for £900? That's pretty fudging great. I recommend one if you can't wait until the next generation, especially if it's a Sapphire model. Superb card.
The 6800XT is even better, only a small performance decrease same amount of vRam and £650!!!! Cooler is pretty decent too (although not top tier) so won't be noisy :)

A lot of countries have done the same thing, the difference is the US federal reserve has been a lot more aggressive in raising interest rates then the Bank of England has making the $ more attractive.
For anyone who is curious

US
Covid Interest Rate: 0.2%
Current Interest Rate: 1.75%

UK
Covid Interest Rate: 0.1%
Current Interest Rate: 1.25% (Talks of 1.75% in August)

Don't get me wrong, I understand inflation and increased fuel prices, current climate etc etc...

But, paying this much for 2yr old cards when new cards are coming close is just not worth it. Nvidia and AMD both have a lot of stock to clear before they release their new cards and it looks like they're still trying to squeeze every last penny they can out of gamers before that day. It's nice that people who were unable to pay the high prices over the last 2 years can finally afford to upgrade, but I think they should be selling these a lot cheaper than this. I'm still just glad I was one of the lucky ones who managed to get a 3080 at MSRP on launch day

Agreed, I only bought a 3060Ti FE as I had no card and given the relatively low price my potential loss on an upgrade should be minimised. You got a great buy there.

Moaning when there is no stock, moaning when spoilt for choice. Cant win with some people. ;)
He has got a point though, who is buying cards at MSRP now when the new cards are only a few months away and these cards will be half the price again - if you've been waiting over a year to get a new card, a few more months is hardly going to kill you.

People say this every release and its getting less and less likely. Half price is being overly optimistic. There are still bucket loads of 3xxx to sell. Nvidia now even rumoured to be delaying the 4xxx release.

theres still bucket loads of 3000 series that will hit the second hand market too at bargain bin prices

MSRP after two years and next gen on the way, bargain.
Exactly, this ain't a deal, do not listen to the OCUK staff, people like Gibbo are salesmen, I know, I am one myself....

MSRP, regardless of excuses, is NOT deal 2 years later, NOT when WAAAAY better tech is literally around the corner, do yourself a favour people, if you held out due to excessive prices over the last 18-24 months, hold out another 2-4 and you will find out just how overpriced current gen is.

Do youself a favour, DO NOT listen to what Nvidia say, they are desperate for people to buy NOW, of course they will spread gossip about delayed launches etc etc. Well guess what, AMD are not delaying their launch, and they are not cutting back on new 5nm fabbed chips, so the GOOD stuff is coming and Nvidia will not want to be launching after, so do you really believe this "delayed launch" nonsense. It probably is true, partly, but the delay is them launching EARLY, like August/October, they will still launch this year along or before AMD, so yes, HOLD on or LOSE OUT.

The general climate of todays market is somewhat different to that one of two years ago, inflation, a weaker pound, massively increased shipping cost and MSRP's which to be quite frank were overly aggressive and hence some manufacturers can now just about hit them and some still cannot.

Everything is now considerably more expensive than it was just six months ago due to inflation, fuel and energy cost.
LOL what a load of old excuses and tosh, not a single mention of CRYPTO mining prices. This is the ONLY reason prices went up so much and are coming down, but "down to MSRP" is NOT a deal. My money stays in my wallet until I see value for money.

Come rain, come shine, whatever way winds the winds may blow, in feast or famine, in the best of times, or the worst of times, there's always one thing we can rely on:

"There's always some excuse for over-priced Graphics cards"
Exactly, its never just "this is the price" deal with it, always a lame excuse.

My point was the reason they are not coming down more is because of the things outlined above, surely you have witnessed the extra cost of living with fuel, energy, food prices etc.

If the pound strength was un-changed, a war was not happening and the world was as it was in 2019/2020 then the massively hiked pricing due to mining, would have come down much lower than we are seeing today, for sure everything would have been massively below MSRP now, but other factors have made that in some cases not possible.

All that matters is OcUK is pretty much leading the way with pricing and getting the prices down compared to competitors. :)

Could well be Nvidia still have loads of 3xxx stock. As a business it makes more sense selling 3xxx for what you can get and delaying the 4xxx release rather than discount the 3xxx and bringing out the 4xxx release. Nvidia can do what they want if recent events have told us. If you dont like it dont buy but we all know despite the best of intentions PC enthusiasts dont vote with their wallets. They all want the precious and moan like hell when they consider it unfair they cant buy or it costs too much.

AMD wont even hint at a delay because they never had the stock Nvidia did, we hardly saw an AMD release in the UK and the fact they can bring out refreshes like the 6x50 suggests they dont have stock now either. They must be pretty adamant they can sell whats there now before the 7xxx release.

I was just saying people who always say "crazy to buy now wait for the new releases blah blah" recent history told us that was not the case and it might not be now. People can make their own minds up if they want to buy now its not crazy. People pay what they are happy to pay.

They're just liars and cheats, that's all there is to it.

To be fair to OcUK and Gibbo they did some forum deals which meant that some customers got reasonable deals in the midst of the mining boom. IMO the greedier people were those customers who scalped those forum deals (despite being told that these cards were not to be scalped as condition of being a deal)

Oh, really?, Well I am an enthusiast, a PC gamer for decades that at the start of the year built a new PC, brand new Alder Lake platform etc etc, but did I buy a GPU?, NOPE, I shall continue to vote with my wallet and use my perfectly functioning overclocked GTX 1060 6GB, which even at 1440p smashes the main games I play, DOTA2, Dead by daylight and a few others. Together with work, family and stuff I see no value proposition in "here you go, buy this £1000 GPU to "game" on, no thanks, that money is spent better elsewhere, even for proper gamers.

Stop overcharging, give us back value, stop ruining the PC gaming segment and being plain greedy, you cannot keep driving up profits forever, yes LOOKING at you Nvidia, AMD etc etc.

It was well worth waiting if you had a working gpu and didn't intend to mine on any new gpu purchase to help pay towards it. It is possible today to buy a 2060 6GB for less than £250 and a 2060 12GB for £270. Given the weakness of the pound, the extra die size to support dlss and ray tracing I think these cards at these prices are an excellent 1060 replacement. In fact given the increase in price of components, shipping etc, along with the weakness of the pound I wonder how much profit is being made on the 2060 at these prices
